The NFL Draft green room is essentially a one-way ticket to being called in the first round of the draft. While there are certainly exceptions, the overwhelming majority of attendees are taken in Round 1.
The 2025 NFL Draft is in the Titletown District near Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, from April 24 to April 26, and the NFL just announced this year’s green-room invitees. So, who has received an invitation to the exclusive club?
2025 NFL Draft Green Room Invites
Last year, the green room had 13 attendees. Despite rumors that the NFL would be more exclusive with its invite list, the number actually increased to 16 this year.
Initially, the NFL announced 17 players would be in attendance at the 2025 NFL Draft, but two players have since been removed from the list — and there was a last-minute addition:
- OG Tyler Booker
- LB Jihaad Campbell
- OT Will Campbell
- EDGE Abdul Carter
- WR Matthew Golden
- DT Mason Graham
- CB/WR Travis Hunter
- RB Ashton Jeanty
- CB Will Johnson
- WR Tetairoa McMillan
- QB Jalen Milroe
- OT Josh Simmons
- S Malaki Starks
- EDGE Shemar Stewart
- QB Cam Ward
- CB Maxwell Hairston
QB Jaxson Dart and EDGE Mykel Williams were originally included, but they have since been removed from the list. Hairston, the Kentucky CB, was a last-minute addition (suggesting that his draft stock may be on the rise as the draft rapidly approaches).
Back in February, Fox Sports NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that Penn State tight end Tyler Warren was invited, but he isn’t on the NFL’s list. It’s unclear if Schultz’s source was incorrect or if Warren rejected the green-room invitation.
The most surprising inclusion was Milroe, who was widely regarded as a Day 2 pick before his name appeared on the green-room list. PFSN’s latest seven-round mock draft has Milroe going No. 67 overall in the third round to the Cleveland Browns, but this might be too low.
PFSN’s Jacob Infante noted that in his mock draft blurb: “Jalen Milroe may go much higher than this because of his immense upside stemming from his strong arm and elite athleticism. That said, Cleveland would be a great landing spot for him to sit for a year or two, then inevitably push for a starting role.”
One name that’s missing from this list is Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders, who has opted to celebrate with family and friends rather than attend the NFL Draft. During a recent episode of his podcast “2 Legendary,” Sanders revealed why he’s skipping the event.
“We’ll most likely [celebrate in] Colorado or Dallas,” Shedeur said. “We didn’t decide fully yet. We plan on doing it, like, an event thing, and where it’ll be fun. … You got to think, having everybody come out there, bro, it’s going to be so expensive. So cost-wise, you’re saving a lot of money. You get to be around your people and all that.
“It’s not just me that was able to get to this point. It’s like a team. It was a team thing, and it was a team of people that helped me get to where I am now. So I want to be able to make sure I’m able to enjoy that with everybody and nobody be in uncomfortable situations for traveling and to show support.”
While this makes sense and many players have decided to celebrate on their own rather than sitting in the green room, Sanders’ decision has generated speculation that he and his camp are bracing for him to potentially fall on draft night. Sanders has received a ton of criticism lately, and there are rumblings that his draft stock has taken a hit.
Most of the criticism has to do with his average arm talent and concerns about his attitude or character (with words like “cocky” and “arrogant” sometimes getting thrown around). Sanders admitted that he “offended” some front offices with his blunt personality and habit of interviewing teams as much as they interview him. And despite his production, Sanders doesn’t display the elite physical tools that many NFL teams covet.
PFSN’s most recent mock draft has Sanders falling to No. 21 overall to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Here’s what our Owain Jones wrote about the projected pick: “If Shedeur Sanders tumbles in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Steelers become a logical landing spot for the Colorado quarterback.
“While Aaron Rodgers has flirted with Pittsburgh, if he decides not to sign, the six-time Super Bowl champions will be left with Mason Rudolph as their starter under center. Sanders has the game management to control an NFL offense. He is accurate, gets the ball out quickly, and progresses through his reads with purpose.”
