New York Giants
Saquon Barkley
Only two running backs in NFL history have had over 1,000 yards rushing and receiving in the same season. If anybody is going to join Roger Craig and Marshall Faulk in that club in 2019 then Saquon Barkley must be one of the favorites. Barkley’s size, athleticism, and elusiveness resemble a player created on Madden, and the trade of Odell Beckham Jr. makes it clear who the New York Giants see as the focal point of their offense. Defensive coordinators will be game planning around stopping Barkley, but Barkley averaged 22 touches per game in 2018. A consistent home run threat with a heavy workload is fantasy gold.
Evan Engram
If you’re looking for a high-upside option to pick up some of the slack created by Beckham’s departure, then Evan Engram could be a sensible choice. The list of consistent producers at tight end is short, but Engram has 4.42 speed and averaged 52.5 yards and almost six targets per game in 2018. Eli Manning’s inability to throw deep or outside of the numbers could see this number increase further, and Engram has the opportunity to make himself an every week starter and propel himself into the upper echelon of tight ends.
Sleepers
In Beckham’s absence, there has to be a wide receiver in New York who catches passes. On paper, Sterling Shepard and Golden Tate fill similar roles, operating best in the slot, but both have been productive in the past. Shepard is an outstanding route runner who has improved his output every season. Tate is one of the best receivers in the league after the catch and can turn short passes into big gains.
