The move that shook the NFL world this week was undoubtedly the trade of George Pickens from the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Dallas Cowboys. As conversations heat up about how the wide receiver will boost Dallas’ offense in the upcoming season, the debate has also reignited over which team currently has the best wide receiver duo in the NFL.
Former Philadelphia Eagles player and two-time Super Bowl champion Brandon Graham revealed his top five wide receiver duos heading into the new season—and noticeably left out the Cowboys’ new pairing.

The NFL is currently in a golden era for skill position players—especially quarterbacks and wide receivers. With the league shifting its focus heavily toward offense and implementing rules that encourage higher scoring, the pipeline of talent from college football has never been stronger at these positions.
One debate that consistently sparks discussion is about the best wide receiver duos in the league. With so many elite pairings, opinions often vary based on personal preferences. Graham added fuel to that fire with a top-five list that caught many fans off guard.

“You know who I got. Because I believe them boys are going back again. They’re going back again,” Graham said. “And I’m excited because, you know, with Jalen and those guys, A.J. and Devonta, you see those catches that the boys [are] making out there. And it’s trending in this way. I feel like it’s going to be more of a balanced offense this year. And they’re going to get it all together.”
The Eagles’ top wide receiver duo didn’t have its most productive season in 2024. Brown barely eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark, finishing with seven touchdowns on just 67 receptions. Smith, meanwhile, hauled in one more catch than Brown but totaled 833 yards and eight touchdowns.
Graham, a lifelong Eagle, might seem biased in this debate—but there’s a case to be made. The Eagles’ duo operated in a system that leaned heavily on the run and emphasized simplified reads for Jalen Hurts. Even so, when it mattered most, Brown and Smith stepped up, showing why many still consider them the league’s top tandem.
The absence of Lamb and Pickens—the newly formed Cowboys duo—raised eyebrows. After all, Pickens appears to be the missing piece that could help elevate Dallas’ passing attack. Still, it’s hard to argue with the five duos Graham ranked. Each includes two proven, high-level receivers already in the conversation.
There are still questions about how Pickens will perform in his new environment, especially after reports that several general managers were hesitant to trade for him during the draft. According to league insiders, teams laughed at the idea of trading for him due to concerns about his personality.
Still, on the field, this duo has the potential to produce at a high level—if they stay healthy. Lamb and Pickens complement each other well, and while they might not crack Graham’s top five or many analysts’ lists yet, what matters most for Dallas is how the pair lifts the offense in 2025. Given the team’s current needs and realistic options, this could be exactly what the Cowboys were missing.
