The NFL playoffs got underway this weekend, and we’ve already seen some exciting finishes. The Rams-Panthers and Packers-Bears games both came down to the wire on Saturday, and the Bills-Jaguars game on Sunday did as well.
The Jaguars ended up losing, and quarterback Trevor Lawrence didn’t have his best day. After the game, a two-time Super Bowl champion took a dig at Lawrence.
LeSean McCoy Says Trevor Lawrence Is ‘Overhyped’ After Playoff Loss
LeSean McCoy was one of the best running backs in the league during his prime. The star running back won two Super Bowls, earned six Pro Bowl selections, and led the league in rushing yards in 2013.
Since retiring, McCoy has worked as an analyst. The former star is not a Trevor Lawrence believer, and he took to social media to blast the quarterback after this loss.
“Better team better defense better offense ….TREVOR is EXACTLY WHO I THOUGHT HE WAS OVER HYPED in my “Dennis Green” VOICE,” McCoy said on X.

Of course, McCoy did play for the Bills for four seasons, from 2015 to 2018. McCoy was likely just happy to see his former team get another big playoff win.
Lawrence definitely didn’t have his best game, so the criticism is warranted. Lawrence completed 18 of his 30 pass attempts for 207 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions.
The quarterback’s second interception essentially ended the game, as a pass intended for Jakobi Meyers was tipped and picked off by Cole Bishop. The Jaguars had about one minute to get into field goal range down three, but the interception allowed the Bills to regain possession and kneel out the clock.
This also isn’t the first time Lawrence has struggled in the playoffs. In three career playoff games, Lawrence has completed 70 of 116 passes for 712 yards with eight touchdowns and seven interceptions. The former top pick has a 1-2 record in those three postseason contests.
Disappointing End to Promising Season for Jaguars
The Jaguars felt like a team that could make a run in the postseason this year. After starting the season with a 5-4 record, the team won its final eight games to finish 13-4.
Lawrence looked to be finally reaching his full potential, and head coach Liam Coen outperformed expectations during his first year at the helm. However, matching up with the Bills in the first round wasn’t the easiest assignment.
It was a back-and-forth game on Sunday that featured four lead changes in the fourth quarter alone. Ultimately, the heroics of Josh Allen were too much for the Jaguars to overcome, and the team’s promising season ended much earlier than they expected it to.

Lawerence seemed to be having trouble seeing. He really needs to be checked because we noticed it early on in the game and it got worse. Not making excuses as we were pulling for the other team but lived near Clemson and are truly concerned,
