‘GOATS Only Chase Themselves’ – WNBA World Reacts As Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese Inch Closer to Breaking Their Own Records

WNBA world erupts as Fever's Caitlin Clark and Atlanta's Angel Reese chase historic records that they previously set.

Tuesday night went as planned for Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, with both helping their teams secure wins. Clark scored 24 points for the Indiana Fever against Toronto Tempo, while Reese posted 21 points on 6-of-13 shooting, along with 10 rebounds and 4 steals against the Las Vegas Aces.

With both WNBA stars making a big impact in their wins, fans praised the duo as they inched closer to the league records they previously set.

The Fever once again received a big contribution from Clark in their game against the Tempo. She finished with 24 points on 7-for-16 shooting, including four 3-pointers, while also recording 7 assists and 3 rebounds in 33 minutes.

After the game, Polymarket Hoops highlighted another impressive mark from Clark.

“Caitlin Clark ties Caitlin Clark for the longest streak of games with 20p/5a in WNBA history.”

The post quickly drew attention on X, with fans celebrating Clark’s ability to match her own record, as one user remarked: “GOATS only chase themselves.”

Another post pointed out that Clark had previously matched the same record in June. It noted that her earlier run came from June 11-22, 2026, when she also tied the WNBA’s longest streak.

The list included players such as Cappie Pondexter, Arike Ogunbowale, and Kelsey Plum, while Clark appeared twice after reaching the mark in August 2024 and again in May 2026.

One fan took the comparison even further, joking about Clark competing against herself. “Yeah? Well, you just wait! This other Caitlin Clark lady ain’t got NOTHING on Caitlin Clark! Caitlin Clark is gonna TOAST that record! What’cha got to say about THAT, Caitlin Clark?”

Clark entered the matchup against the Tempo averaging 22.0 points, 8.3 assists, and 3.9 rebounds, and remained consistent in her production.

Clark will have a chance to set a new WNBA record for the longest 20-point, 5-assist streak Thursday when Indiana faces the Dallas Wings at American Airlines Center.

Reese, meanwhile, has continued to make her own mark on the record books. She officially broke the Dream’s single-season rebounding record, collecting her 375th rebound against the Connecticut Sun last week.

She then added 10 more on Tuesday night against the Aces, taking her season total to 408.

Real App noted this major achievement from Reese, writing, “Angel Reese is the 2nd fastest player in WNBA history to reach 400+ rebounds in a season. Behind only herself in 2024.”

Fans quickly reacted to the latest numbers. One supporter focused on Reese’s strength on the boards, writing, “She can’t make layups but she can get rebounds 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥”

Reese also had a historic rookie season in 2024 with the Chicago Sky. She averaged 13.1 rebounds per game and collected 446 rebounds across 34 games.

She is well on her way to equalling a record she set in 2024.

This season, Reese reached 1,000 career rebounds in only 79 games, doing so 10 games faster than Tina Charles, who remains the league’s all-time rebounding leader with 4,262 boards.

Reese now has 1,231 career rebounds and is averaging 12.5 rebounds per game. At that current pace, she would need another 241 games to pass Charles’ career record.
