The highly anticipated clash between the Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky on Sunday lived up to the hype, fueling the ongoing conflict between Caitlin Clark and DiJonai Carrington.
Though Clark won their individual matchup by a mile, it was Carrington who tried her very best to get the Fever superstar out of the game, bumping into the three-time All-Star in the middle of the second quarter.
The sequence prompted the WNBA community to push back against Carrington, who recently drew their ire with her social media comments.
WNBA World Slams DiJonai Carrington’s Latest Antics Against Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark
Carrington was ejected in the first quarter of the Fever’s 90-86 win over the Sky on Aug 8 after being called for a Flagrant 2 Foul on Sophie Cunningham, then posted the words “WHITE PRIVILEGE” on social media and tagged the Fever.
She incited tension by bumping into Clark while both players were heading toward the Sky’s half at the 6:18 mark of the second quarter of Sunday’s game at Wintrust Arena.
Carrington’s shove came seconds after Clark hit a 3-pointer in front of the Chicago guard, giving Indiana a 36-34 lead. The Fever star absorbed the contact but shrugged it off to avoid further conflict.

Carrington’s antics against Clark prompted the WNBA community to target her on social media, with a basketball enthusiast calling the guard “desperate” to get the referees’ attention.
“DiJonai looking SO desperate for attention 😠m Meanwhile Caitlin Clark is ignoring her like she doesn’t even exist. The unbothered energy is immaculate 😂,” they wrote.

Another user pounced on Carrington’s “White Privilege” narrative, calling her an attention seeker who could pose a legitimate danger to women’s players on the court.
“Is this white privilege @DijonaiVictoria? Because if the roles were reversed the Internet would break @wnba you need to get this attention seeking lady out of the league she is legitimately dangerous to people on the court!!” the user posted.

A follower who claims to be a huge Clark and Fever fan of Aliyah Boston described the Chicago Sky guard as an “obsessive clout chaser” after seeing the video clip.
“Seconds after Caitlin Clark drains a 3 in the face of the obsessive clout chaser DiJonai Carrington, she then waves her off with little concern for her desperation in chasing a viral moment!,” the fan said.

Conservative media personality Jon Root mentioned another incident in which Carrington mocked Clark following a contact.
“DiJonai Carrington, mocked Caitlin Clark after she fouled her, claiming she whipped her head back, which never happened… This chick sucks,” Root opined.

A women’s hoops enthusiast scorched Carrington, calling her “a disgusting racist envious of Cunningham and Clark.”
A social media user directed her comment to the WNBA for tolerating Carrington’s illegal contacts, disguised as physical moves, during a game.
“There was absolutely NO reason for Carrington to make contact with Caitlin there. This kind of garbage is being presented to young girls as “acceptable”. It’s saying, you can bully and body bump people because you don’t like, agree, or are mad at them. SHAME on the WNBA for allowing this,” they posted.
Podcaster Jaime Lardis gave Clark some props as she shrugged off Carrington’s attempt to instigate conflict by bumping the Indiana superstar after the superstar hit a 3-pointer.
“Caitlin Clark hit a 3 right in DiJonai Carrington’s face, then DiJonai came back down trying to bump her. CC just waved her off. We don’t deal with instigators over here,” Lardis wrote.
Clark and the Fever had the last laugh in the encounter, winning 113-90 to improve to 25-14, behind the Atlanta Dream (24-13).
Clark exploded for 37 points, going 8-of-12 from 3-point range, and dished off 10 assists to overpower the Sky, who fell to 15-23. Carrington finished with 7 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block.
