During the Tennessee Titans’ 31-12 victory over the Miami Dolphins on “Monday Night Football,” quarterback Will Levis suffered an injury. What happened to Levis, and how long will the young QB be sidelined? Let’s examine the latest updates.

The Latest on Will Levis’ Injury

Early in the first quarter, Levis finished a run by diving for a first down, landing hard on his shoulder. Levis left the game and did not return, with Mason Rudolph replacing him under center.

It’s believed that Levis suffered a mild AC joint sprain. The injury is to his throwing shoulder, which makes it more concerning.

Fortunately for Levis and the Titans, they have a Week 5 bye, so he’ll have plenty of time to rest before Tennessee’s next game against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 6.

On Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported that Levis “should be fine when the team returns from the bye,” so it sounds like he won’t miss any time as a result of the shoulder injury.

This season, Levis has thrown for 604 yards, four touchdowns, and six interceptions with a 68.4% completion percentage. After throwing just four interceptions in nine games as a rookie, Levis has already topped that number in the first month of the season.

With that said, Titans head coach Brian Callahan has already committed to Levis as the Titans’ starting quarterback going forward, so don’t expect any kind of QB controversy.

    Levis’ Fantasy Outlook

In Week 3 against the Green Bay Packers, Levis looked good during the opening 10-play drive that ended with a one-yard touchdown pass to Nick Vannett. It was a glimpse of what Levis can do. Then, on the very next drive, he was late on a hitch and it was six points in the other direction.

    That’s Levis in a nutshell.

The 25-year-old isn’t void of talent, he’s void of consistency. We can split hairs on that all you want, but there’s a ton of development that needs to take place for him to be a viable fantasy option.

This makes it very hard to trust the Titans’ wide receivers, Calvin Ridley and DeAndre Hopkins. Both are talented veterans, and I don’t doubt that one of these big-play receivers can be a fantasy asset. With that said, I find it unlikely that the same name fills that role on any sort of consistent basis.

If Mason Rudolph is under center, the offense projects to be even worse, as he could only muster 85 passing yards and nine completions (with a 52.9% completion percentage) on Monday.

We have Ridley ranked as the WR1 in Tennessee’s offense for the rest of the season. However, betting on any member of this passing game to be anything more than a risk/reward Flex option who requires a touchdown to pay off your confidence is a step I’m not willing to take.
