The Match returns in 2022 for a sixth edition, but where will the group of NFL quarterbacks, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Patrick Mahomes, and Josh Allen, be teeing up? The previous five editions of the event have all been held at different golf courses around the United States of America, so will we see a sixth different course, or will the event return to one of the previous five?
Where is The Match in 2022?
The Match in 2022 will return to the Wynn Golf Club in Paradise, Las Vegas, Nevada. The first five rounds have traveled from Nevada to Florida, Arizona, and Montana. The sixth edition of the event returns to Nevada, meaning the state has now hosted it three times. The Wynn Golf Club also hosted the fifth edition when Brooks Koepka defeated Bryson DeChambeau.
Where is the Wynn Golf Club in Nevada?
It was only a month ago that the NFL was wrapping up the 2022 NFL Draft from their set in front of the fountains at the Bellagio Hotel. Now, the four star quarterbacks will be teeing up just a 30-minute walk from there at the Wynn Golf Club.
The course prides itself on being the only resort course on the Las Vegas Strip. Wynn Golf Club is built on the site of the Desert Inn Golf Club, which opened in 1952. The Desert Inn Golf Club hosted the PGA Tour Tournament of Champions from 1953 to 1966. Wynn Golf Club was briefly shut down in 2017 before reopening in 2019.
The 2022 Match will be played on 12 holes of Wynn Golf Club
Similar to the fifth edition of The Match, this event will be played across just 12 holes instead of 18. It is not confirmed which 12 holes will be used. The course is a par-70 championship length course (6,722 yards). It has six par-3 holes, the shortest of which is just 157 yards. In contrast, it has four par-5 holes, the longest of which is 591 yards.
Of the 18 holes, players encounter water on 12 of them. Whichever 12 holes are selected for The Match in 2022, the four NFL players will face a stern test against this beautiful golf course right in the heart of Las Vegas.
