Super Bowl 58 has arrived as the San Francisco 49ers take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Allegiant Stadium tonight. While the 49ers are still looking for their first Super Bowl victory during Kyle Shanahan’s tenure, and first since 1995, the Chiefs hope to lift their third Lombardi Trophy in five years and be the first team to win back-to-back Super Bowls since 2005.
With the food and party prep getting underway, what time is Super Bowl 58? Here’s how to watch the NFL game tonight, including the start time, channel, and live stream options.
What Time Does Super Bowl 58 Start?
CBS airs Super Bowl 58 at 6:30 p.m. ET with an additional broadcast on Nickelodeon that will be geared toward the younger audience. Viewers without standard cable options can live stream the game on Paramount+ as well. The earlier start allows the game to end before it gets too late on the East Coast and allows the ability to have a longer halftime show. Here’s how to watch Super Bowl 58.
San Francisco 49ers at Kansas City Chiefs
- Start time: 6:30 p.m. ET
- Channel: CBS, Nickelodeon
- Live stream options: Paramount+, NFL+
Who will win the Super Bowl in “Sin City”? The Chiefs hope to keep their postseason momentum as the offense has come alive in the last three games. RB Isaiah Pacheco leads all runningbacks this postseason with 254 yards. TE Travis Kelce and rookie WR Rashee Rice are in the top five of pass catchers in yards, while Kelce is tied for the most touchdowns at three.
Can they take down back-to-back top-tier defenses? The Ravens’ defense played lights out all season but came up short in the AFC Championship Game. With an equally talented defense, the 49ers will try to halt Kansas City’s surprising run to Super Bowl 58. They won’t have the injury excuse, as no San Francisco player has an injury designation outside of injured reserve members.
The same cannot be said for the Chiefs, who will be missing a vital piece on offense with left guard Joe Thuney out after suffering a pectoral injury against the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round.

While it’s not the entire line like Super Bowl 55, how much will Thuney’s absence affect Patrick Mahomes’ protection in the pocket?
While Mahomes was relatively unaffected in the AFC Championship Game, the 49ers’ pass rush can be unrelenting. Mahomes must be extra vigilant, with DE Nick Bosa and DTs Arik Armstead and Javon Hargrave bearing down on him every snap.
