What Is the Toy Story NFL Game? Special Broadcast To Be Featured on Disney+ Week 4

What a time to be alive if you are a kid and a football fan! We have seen the NFL dabble in the world of alternative live sports broadcasts over the last couple of seasons with their Nickelodeon collaboration, now it looks like Disney+ and Toy Story are getting in on the action as well.

While a typical broadcast would have the game played on the field in the traditional sense, kids and whoever else would like to enjoy it will get a chance to watch all the NFL action live right there in Andy’s Room.

From the current NFL standings to team depth charts to coverage of every game in the 18-week NFL schedule, we have all the news from around the league to keep you up to speed!

What Is the Toy Story NFL Game?

This Sunday, the Jacksonville Jaguars and Atlanta Falcons will square off in the latest edition of the NFL’s International Series at Wembley Stadium in London. While it is a big deal for the international perspective, it also signifies the start of another new way to watch for fans.

Using the NFL’s Next Gen Stats and on-field tracking data capabilities, every play will be presented in “Andy’s Room,” where the familiar setting from the Toy Story franchise will be used as the playing field for all of the action.

There will be an expected delay of 30 seconds from real-time action to make all of this possible, but the turnaround time is a small price to pay for all of the work being done on the back end to bring kids a fun new viewing experience.

What Will the Broadcast Look Like?

Main characters Woody and Buzz Lightyear along with many of their Toy Story friends will be visible throughout. The characters will be participating from the sidelines and in other non-gameplay elements. Along with action during the game, the announcers, graphics, scoreboard, referee announcements, celebrations, and all other parts of the experience will be done in a Toy Story realm.

    Is There a Halftime Show?

It wouldn’t be right if the kids didn’t get their very own halftime show and Disney+ and Toy Story did not disappoint. At halftime, Duke Caboom — the motorcycle daredevil voiced by Keanu Reeves — will attempt a jump.

With Caboom doing fancy motorcycle tricks during an amazing halftime show, kids will surely be locked in from start to finish on this one-of-a-kind NFL experience.
