What Channel Airs the NFL Game Tonight?

NBC airs the Sunday Night Football matchup between the Chiefs and Jets at 8:20 p.m. ET tonight. The game will also be available on Peacock for those without standard cable options.

Kansas City Chiefs at New York Jets

  • Start time: 8:20 p.m. ET
  • Channel: NBC
  • Live stream options: Peacock, FuboTV

The preseason expectations for the Jets were the highest they’ve been in quite some time. With four-time league MVP QB Aaron Rodgers coming to town and head coach Robert Saleh and the front office building a solid roster, a playoff appearance seemed pretty much guaranteed.

Then the rug got pulled out under the Jets’ 2023 plans. Rodgers went down four plays into his Jets tenure, tearing his Achilles and going out for the year. This forced the Jets to hand the reins back to third-year QB Zach Wilson. While the young signal-caller showed some improvement this offseason as a backup, it’s clear Wilson wasn’t quite ready to start again.

He’s completing just 52.4% of his 84 pass attempts for 467 yards, two touchdowns, and four interceptions. He’s also been sacked eight times. Sustaining drives has been the Jets’ most formidable challenge, as they have the lowest possession time through three weeks.

Additionally, the Jets have a third-down conversion rate of just 16.7% in the first half this season, second-worst in the NFL, while the Chiefs defense is allowing a third-down conversion rate of 26.3% in the first half, the fifth-best.

If the Jets get into a hole early, clawing their way back will be extremely difficult. The Jets are averaging just 14 points per game, which is nowhere near enough to challenge the Chiefs in the NFL game tonight. New York will need Wilson to play the best game of his career if they want to upset Kansas City tonight.
