USFL Games Today 2022: Schedule, how to watch, odds, matchups, and more

Time to gear up for more USFL football! Here's how to watch Week 5 of the USFL schedule, including the odds for today's games.

The USFL heads into Week 5 of the schedule, and the Stallions remain undefeated. While it wasn’t the fourth-quarter comeback like the first three weeks, Birmingham’s defense and special teams put together another stout performance. Let’s look at how to watch these USFL games today and the odds from each contest.

USFL Games Today: Schedule, how to watch, odds

The USFL will have four games every week. All eight teams play each week with no byes. Let’s see how to watch Week 5 of the USFL season on Sunday, the first week of interdivisional play on the schedule since Week 1.

Michigan Panthers (1-3) vs. Tampa Bay Bandits (2-2)

  • Start time: 8 p.m. ET, May 13
  • Channel: USA
  • Live stream options: Fubo TV, Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, Sling
  • USFL Odds: (Odds provided by DraftKings Sportsbook)
    • Spread: Bandits -2
    • Moneyline: Bandits -130, Panthers +110
    • Over/Under: 33.5

The Panthers are stuck in an offensive rut from a passing perspective. After Michigan’s head coach benched QB Shea Patterson for Paxton Lynch, an injury to Lynch forced Patterson to return to the starting lineup. Patterson’s limitations as a passer are evident, so the Panthers have turned to the rushing game.

What Patterson lacks in passing ability, he adds in athleticism. He’s also backed by a phenomenal RB in Reggie Corbin, who rushed for 152 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. He faces a Bandits defense that did their best to stifle a hot Stallions offense. Tampa held Birmingham RB CJ Marable to just 55 rushing yards on 17 carries in Week 4. If the Bandits can shut down Michigan’s rushing game, Tampa QB Jordan Ta’amu should have an easy road to victory.

New Orleans Breakers (3-1) vs. New Jersey Generals (3-1)

  • Start time: 3 p.m. ET, May 14
  • Channel: FOX
  • Live stream options: Fubo TV, Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV
  • USFL Odds: (Odds provided by DraftKings Sportsbook)
    • Spread: Breakers -3
    • Moneyline: Breakers -150, Generals +130
    • Over/Under: 36.5

This tilt between the Breakers and Generals is easily the USFL’s game of the week. Both squads come into the Week 5 matchup at 3-1 and in playoff contention for their respective divisions. After dropping their season opener to the Stallions, the Generals continue to ride a three-game win streak.

Meanwhile, the Breakers got a well-earned win after losing their first game of the season to Birmingham in Week 3. New Orleans QB Kyle Sloter pulled together a majestic final drive to seal the Breakers’ Week 4 win, but it wasn’t a pretty day overall. Sloter will have to limit the turnovers against an opportunistic Generals team. New Jersey HC Mike Riley’s two-QB system works to perfection but will face quite the challenge. The Breakers’ defense held the USFL’s leading rusher, Gamblers RB Mark Thompson, to just 10 yards in Week 4.

Birmingham Stallions (4-0) vs. Philadelphia Stars (2-2)

  • Start time: Noon ET, May 15
  • Channel: NBC
  • Live stream options: Peacock
  • USFL Odds: (Odds provided by DraftKings Sportsbook)
    • Spread: Stallions -6
    • Moneyline: Stallions -250, Stars +200
    • Over/Under: 36

The Stallions lengthened their undefeated journey another week after defeating the Bandits in a close Week 4 victory. Now, they face a Stars team hanging on hope for the next few weeks.

Stars QB Bryan Scott is expected to be out three weeks, and head coach Bart Andrus will not add another QB in the meantime. Philadelphia will ride with Case Cookus and designate WR Maurice Alexander Jr. as the emergency backup. The offense should not be Andrus’ concern, though.

The Stars’ defense has given up 23+ points every week this season. While the injuries on offense have taken up a lot of the conversation, the starting QB won’t matter if the defense is hemorrhaging points. Stallions LB Scooby Wright III will stop this from becoming a track meet, but will the Stars have any answers for Birmingham’s offense?

Pittsburgh Maulers (0-4) vs. Houston Gamblers (1-3)

  • Start time: 4 p.m. ET, May 15
  • Channel: FOX
  • Live stream options: Fubo TV, Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV
  • USFL Odds: (Odds provided by DraftKings Sportsbook)
    • Spread: Gamblers -5.5
    • Moneyline: Gamblers -235, Maulers +190
    • Over/Under: 34

The Gamblers’ season could be a completely different story if they could finish a game. Houston’s defense forced four turnovers, blocked a field goal, and sacked the QB twice — only to lose yet again. The consistency from QB Clayton Thorson is nonexistent, but luckily for the Gamblers, their opponent equally lacks offensive cohesion.

The Pittsburgh Maulers limp into Week 5 without a win. It’s been a rough season, but they’ve had some chances. The injury to WR Bailey Gaither is devastating, but Week 4 did bring the emergence of Tre Walker. Outside of those two players, though, no one else is packing any real punch for the Maulers’ offense. This can be the Gamblers’ opportunity to grab their first win since Week 1.
