Tyler Lockett Injury Update

Lockett absorbed a helmet-to-helmet hit from Commanders rookie CB Emmanuel Forbes while trying to haul in a pass from Geno Smith.

While Lockett was able to get up and leave the field quickly, he was immediately taken to the blue medical tent on the Seahawks’ sideline to be evaluated for a concussion.

Meanwhile, Forbes was ejected for his hit on Lockett. The 16th overall pick in April’s draft, Forbes has been in and out of Washington’s starting lineup this season but played 75% of the Commanders’ defensive snaps last week.

The Seahawks subsequently announced that Lockett is available to return on Sunday. He was on the field when Seattle began its next drive.

Lockett was also screened for a concussion during the Seahawks’ Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He was cleared during that game.

Through nine weeks, Lockett leads Seattle in targets (57), receptions (38), and receiving TDs (three). He’s second to fellow WR DK Metcalf in yards (402).

What Would the Seahawks’ Offense Look Like Without Lockett?

Lockett has averaged five receptions and seven targets per game, so Jaxon Smith-Njigba or Metcalf would take on a larger role should Lockett miss any time in the near future.

Another name to keep an eye on would be rookie WR Jake Bobo, who could see extra snaps in 11 personnel if Lockett is ever out of the lineup.
