Travis Kelce’s Fantasy Trade Value

From PFN Analyst Jason Katz
It appears Kelce managers may have lucked out this season. The Chiefs’ plan to minimize Kelce’s usage during the season to keep him fresh for the playoffs was real. Unfortunately, injuries to Hollywood Brown and Rashee Rice have forced their hand. They have to feature Kelce again.

Kelce scored more fantasy points in each of Week 4 and 5 than he did in Weeks 1-3 combined. If his manager is worried about Kelce returning to the guy he was to start the season, he’s worth buying. Once again, Kelce looks like a top-three tight end. If you have him, do not sell. This usage is real.

Should You Start or Sit Travis Kelce in Week 7?

It took a month, but Kelce is right back to holding down the top spot in the tight end rankings and that is likely to be the case for the foreseeable future. As expected, his role has spiked following the Rashee Rice injury and he’s back to dominating.

  • Weeks 1-3: 0.78 yards per route run
  • Weeks 4-5: 2.27 yards per route run

Kelce has been a top-five performer at the position in both of those games (TE15 or worse in each of the first three weeks this season) and offers the best blend of ceiling and floor moving forward.

If you withstood the early struggles, it’s your time to thrive.
