Colorado’s dual-threat Travis Hunter has made it clear that he wants to play on both sides of the ball in the NFL. His name now appearing as a cornerback on the NFL scouting combine list shows that many scouts believe he will play defense in the league, with expectations of him being a top five pick.
Meanwhile, Arizona’s exceptional wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan is also headed to the 2025 NFL Draft, and his selection will highly depend on how he fares at the combine. He could be taken in the top 10 or late in the first round.

Travis Hunter Hyped About Potentially Pairing Up With Tetairoa McMillan
Nevertheless, despite their high projections, both Hunter and McMillan are enthusiastic about their NFL dreams. On the Feb. 15 episode of his eponymous podcast, Hunter, who also plays as a WR, asked McMillan who his dream receiver duo would be in the league. McMillan replied, “Me and You.”

Hunter, visibly elated, said, “Nah, that would be cold. You can’t have us both. It’s a cheat code. Like, who are you gonna… You can’t double. You never know. That could happen in this draft. Because, you know, some funny stuff could be going on. … We never know what’s happening behind them doors.”
McMillan responded, “We’ll see what happens. It’s in God’s hands, man.”
A consensus All-American for the 2024 season, McMillan had an outstanding career with the Wildcats, recording 3,423 yards and 26 touchdowns. In Pro Football and Sports Network’s latest mock draft by Ben Rolfe, he is projected to be selected ninth overall by the New Orleans Saints.
While Hunter’s skill both ways is clear, many are wondering if NFL teams will let him do that in the league. However, the New York Giants are one of the few teams where he might still play on offense as well as defense.
New York needs playmakers on both sides of the ball, and Hunter could very fluently fit in. He’d likely be a full-time defender but could get chances on offense, too. The mock draft also projects him going to the Big Apple at third overall.
Rolfe’s analysis of Hunter says: “The athleticism and versatility that Hunter offers are tantalizing. He is so good with the ball in his hands — it will be tempting to play him as much as possible.”
In 2024, the dual-threat accumulated 1,258 receiving yards on 96 receptions, ending in 15 touchdowns. On defense, he made 24 solo tackles and defended 11 passes. His two-way outings culminated in a Heisman win.
