Here are some of the top 2025 NFL Draft prospects in the Sun Belt conference entering the 2024 college football season. Teams like Appalachian State and South Alabama are relatively well-represented, but Troy boasts the top preliminary prospect in the league.
Top 2025 NFL Draft Prospects in the Sun Belt
K.C. Ossai, LB, Troy
The younger brother of Bengals edge rusher Joseph Ossai, K.C. Ossai stands out as one of the top prospects in the Sun Belt. The 6’1″, 244-pound linebacker has NFL size and speed and racked up 95 tackles in 2023 with his range and imposing ability at contact.
Jordan Favors, DB, Appalachian State
Keep an eye on Jordan Favors. He’s a lower-conference underclassman who could be on the way up after a 2023 season that saw him log 2.5 tackles for loss, four picks, and eight deflections. At 5’11”, 195 pounds, Favors is quick, versatile, and fast-flowing in reaction.
Joey Aguilar, QB, Appalachian State
If you want a deep sleeper to follow in the 2025 NFL Draft quarterback class, consider Joey Aguilar. The 6’3″, 220-pound Aguilar passed for 3,757 yards, 33 touchdowns, and just 10 interceptions in 2023, showing off his high-velocity arm and capable off-platform skills.
Derwin Burgess Jr., WR, Georgia Southern
Derwin Burgess Jr. has been on my radar as a potential sleeper since the 2022 season. Since that campaign, he’s racked up 132 catches for 1,530 yards and 13 touchdowns. At 5’11”, 190 pounds, he’s a smooth and fluid separator with tremendous catch-point instincts.
Jaden Voisin, S, South Alabama
A first-team All-Sun Belt performer, Jaden Voisin returns as a sleeper to know in 2024. In 2023, he amassed 71 tackles, 2.5 TFLs, four INTs, and seven PBUs. At 5’10”, 212 pounds, he brings exceptional fluidity for his size, and his blistering play pace adds to his appeal.
Jacob Bayer, OL, Arkansas State
Though Jacob Bayer has visible athletic limitations, he could be a coveted player for teams on the hunt for late-round center prospects. At 6’3″, 306 pounds, Bayer’s squatty, low-to-the-ground build helps him in the leverage battle, and he’s alert and assignment-sound.
Jason Henderson, LB, Old Dominion
Some linebackers may be larger or more athletic, but none can say they’ve been more productive over the past two seasons than Jason Henderson. Over that stretch, Henderson has amassed 356 tackles and 29.5 tackles for loss. With his instincts, he’s due for more.
Wy’Kevious Thomas, DT, South Alabama
Exiting 2024, Wy’Kevious Thomas will be a four-year starter for the Jaguars. Since 2021, he’s accumulated 6.5 sacks and 12.5 TFLs, but those numbers don’t do justice the stop machine that the 6’1″, 310-pound Thomas is with his strength at the point of attack.
Gavin Pringle, CB, Georgia State
Gavin Pringle may be undersized, but he’s a certified ball hawk. Those sticky, productive cover men always have a chance. He logged three interceptions and 18 pass breakups at Bucknell in 2022 before logging four INTs and four PBUs at Georgia State across the 2023 campaign.
Tellek Lockette, G, Texas State
Tellek Lockette became an early starter at UL Monroe. And now, he’s transferred to Texas State to further his football career.
Though he’s not the most athletic or flexible, Lockette is dense and physical at 6’3″, 335 pounds, with good baseline power, strength, and awareness.
