The Colorado Buffaloes will play their last regular season game of the 2024 season on Friday, Nov. 29, against Oklahoma State, and a win is crucial for them to secure a spot in the Big 12 championship.
Knowing what’s at stake, Shedeur Sanders and the Buffs are leaving no stone unturned and were seen practicing with an NFL legend watching them closely.
Shedeur Sanders Teams Up with Terrell Owens
As the nation celebrated Thanksgiving with their families, the Buffaloes’ star quarterback Sanders had other ideas. He was seen at the Buffs’ training facility preparing for his last home game at Folsom Field.
While Sanders’ dedication impressed his fanbase, they were even more impressed when they learned that Hall of Famer Terrell Owens was helping him train. A video on X (formerly Twitter) is going viral, showing Sanders throwing to his wide receivers.

As the camera zooms in, what initially appeared to be a coach watching him throw is revealed to be Owens, walking around in a black hoodie, brown pants, and black sunglasses.
Sanders appeared to be spending Thanksgiving with a football legend, potentially learning valuable things before he enters the NFL next season with aspirations of becoming a first-round NFL Draft pick. However, more importantly, he has to make up for last week’s 37-21 loss against Kansas, which left their Big 12 Championship Game hopes hanging by a thread.
While the Buffaloes are 16.5-point favorites to win the game against Oklahoma State, according to DraftKings as of Thursday, Nov. 28, a loss to them would mean the season ends without a championship berth. Colorado vs. Oklahoma State kicks off at 12 p.m. ET on Friday, Nov. 29, and will be broadcast live on ABC.
Coach Prime Confirms Sanders, Travis Hunter Will Play in Bowl Game
Speculation is swirling around about whether the upcoming game against Oklahoma State will be Sanders’ final in a Buffs jersey. However, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has already made it clear that Shedeur and fellow star Travis Hunter will not sit out the upcoming bowl game to prepare for the NFL Draft.
“It’s not the last time you’re going to see them in a Buffs uniform,” Deion said. “These two and all the rest of the seniors have done a wonderful job of getting us to where we are, instilling so much expectation in our fanbase and expectation in ourselves, so we’re going to fight and try to end this thing on the right note, and we’re going to go to a bowl game and end this thing on the right note.”
While Shedeur is set to officially declare for the 2025 NFL Draft after the season, it’s clear that he is still fully committed to leading the Buffaloes in their final stretch. The team is focused on finishing strong, aiming to secure a bowl victory to cap off what’s been a defining season for the Buffaloes.
