“It’s tough to put the range of emotions into words over the last few days. … I’m saddened that my wife and family had to endure watching another gruesome injury.”
His words resonated deeply with fans and teammates, including his former quarterback, Brady, who shared a heartfelt response.

It was a heart-wrenching moment for the entire NFL community, so much so that even ESPN chose not to replay it due to its severity. Meanwhile, the NFL scrutinized the tackle, claiming that Smith had used the controversial hip-drop technique the league recently banned. Following their review, the league ruled the tackle illegal, fining Smith $16,883.

Instead of a Halloween costume, Mayfield chose to honor Godwin, who is out for the season following the ankle injury he sustained in Week 7 against the Ravens. The gesture highlighted that the Bucs’ offensive stars share a close bond.
