Stefon Diggs Injury Update: Is the Bills’ WR Going To Play Against the Chiefs?

Currently dealing with a foot injury, will Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs be available today against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round?

The Buffalo Bills are set to take on Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in what promises to be another classic matchup between the two AFC powers. With a trip to the AFC Championship Game versus the Baltimore Ravens on the line, both teams hope to have all hands on deck for the contest.

Key playmakers being able to step up and be available will be crucial, and guys like Stefon Diggs will be counted on to get the job done. But with it being deep into the playoffs, injuries play a factor, and Diggs is no stranger to that. With the all-important matchup set to kick off today, will the Bills have their star WR out there for it?

Stefon Diggs’ Injury Update

Like most players at this point in the season, Diggs is dealing with things that he will need to continue to work through, with the most recent issue ailing him being a foot injury. That foot injury kept Diggs out of practice for both Thursday and Friday of this week leading up to the Chiefs matchup.

A wide receiver known for his route-running ability and speed, having issues with his feet is always going to be a cause for concern. And one could assume that the way Diggs’ practice week went, it was all part of the plan for the organization to monitor and help him with the ongoing situation.

Diggs’ Game Status

Update 01/21/2024: Stefon Diggs is officially active and will play tonight against the Chiefs.

Despite missing the two days of practice leading up to Sunday’s contest, Diggs carries no injury designation heading into the game and looks to be all systems go for the Divisional Round matchup.

This is huge news for a Bills offense that is already going to be without another play-making wide receiver in Gabe Davis. Davis missed last week and has been ruled out for this matchup as well.

Buffalo will now turn to Diggs to pick up any slack they may miss from another Davis absence. Having Diggs clear of any injury designation is a good sign going into the do-or-die playoff matchup.

Diggs vs. the Chiefs

Diggs is all too familiar with the Chiefs and their secondary. This will be the seventh time he will square off against Kansas City.

Buffalo’s dynamic playmaker has enjoyed success in the past against KC. Through six games against the Chiefs, Diggs has accumulated 30 receptions, 420 receiving yards, and two touchdowns — good for five receptions, 70 yards, and .5 touchdowns a game.

Diggs will need to be his usual dynamic self again this week if the Bills want to knock the Chiefs out of the playoffs and set up a date with the Ravens in Baltimore next week with a spot in the Super Bowl on the line.
