    Source: Raiders signing Derek Carr to three-year, $121.5 million extension

    After trading for Davante Adams in March, the Las Vegas Raiders have now given QB Derek Carr a three-year extension.

    The Las Vegas Raiders have locked up starting quarterback Derek Carr to a three-year, $121.5 million contract extension, according to a league source not authorized to speak publicly.

    The Raiders are making big moves this offseason. After hiring coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler, the Raiders traded for Carr’s Fresno State college teammate, star wide receiver Davante Adams, from the Green Bay Packers.

    Derek Carr joins the $40 million club

    Carr is now due $40.5 million annually. He was entering the final year of his contract in 2022. Now, he’s under contract through the 2025 season.

    The highest paid quarterbacks in terms of average per year are. Aaron Rodgers ($50.3 million) Deshaun Watson ($46 million), Patrick Mahomes ($45 million), Josh Allen ($43 million) Carr ($40.5 million), Matt Stafford ($40 million) and Dak Prescott $40 million.

    A former second-round draft pick, Carr was signed to a five-year, $125 million extension in 2017 that included $70 million guaranteed. Instead of hitting free agency in 2023, Carr is now a Raider on a long-term basis.

    Last season, Carr passed for 4,804 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. He also rushed for 108 yards, leading the Raiders to the playoffs.
