Arsenal have been the talk of the town in the last few weeks, with them being in contention to potentially win four trophies this season. However, their squad could be left weakened by Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr, who are reportedly keen to sign one Gunners star.
Could an Arsenal Star Team Up With Cristiano Ronaldo?
According to talkSPORT, Al-Nassr are aware that Ronaldo is likely to depart after the end of his current contract in June 2027. And, they have earmarked Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli as a potential transfer target to pursue in the upcoming summer transfer window.
While Al-Nassr are reportedly being deemed a genuine contender for Martinelli, Arsenal are also said to be open to entering negotiations for the Brazilian. The Gunners could choose to offload their player, as they are already exploring a new left winger for next season.
Martinelli, who is currently valued at $53 million by Transfermarkt, has witnessed a drop in his importance in Arsenal’s squad this season. He has started just 13 of his 27 appearances across all competitions for his side this campaign, scoring 9 goals in the process.
A right-footed inverted winger blessed with pace and dribbling, Martinelli has been at Mikel Arteta’s club since July 2019. He has registered 60 goals and 30 assists in 252 appearances in all competitions for the north London outfit since leaving Brazilian team Ituano.
On the other hand, Gunners great Alan Smith has urged Arteta to cash in on left-back Miles Lewis-Skelly after the end of the ongoing 2025-26 season, as he is not up to the mark.

“He is just not good enough defensively. He’s been brought up as a midfielder and when he has had 1v1s, he has struggled, for example, when (Jeremie) Frimpong was up against him in the Liverpool game (which finished 0-0 on Jan. 8), because he’s not the quickest either, and he’s not a natural defender,” Smith recently told Best Betting Sites.
“He’s got three players in front of him who can all defend better. So, looking forward to the summer, I think it might be a case of selling him, for (Profitability and Sustainability Rules) PSR and all that, being a youth team player, it’s pure profit. So, unfortunately, I think he might have to leave the club,” the former Leicester City striker concluded.
With Riccardo Calafiori and Piero Hincapie regarded as Arsenal’s main left-back options, Lewis-Skelly has struggled for game time this season. The 19-year-old also has competition from Jurrien Timber, a natural right-back adept at operating on both sides of the pitch.
