Ramaj is currently on loan at Heidenheim from Borussia Dortmund this season, where he has delivered sensational performances and made difficult saves, sparking strong interest from rival clubs in a potential signing after his loan spell.
Arsenal recently sent scouts to watch Ramaj throughout the actual season at Heidenheim, and the current Premier League leaders are said to be particularly impressed with the German’s ball distribution, essential to Mikel Arteta’s style of play.
Ramaj is a modern goalkeeper who combines the characteristics of a sweeper-keeper and a distributor. Despite conceding 30 goals in 14 games, the goalkeeper attracts interest for his footwork and long-pass accuracy, which enable quick transitions and suit teams that play from the back and expect the goalkeeper to be the “first builder.”
