‘Those Are Super Limited’ — Shedeur Sanders Weighs In on Nike’s Air Jordan vs. Deion Sanders’ Air Dia͏mond T͏urf

Colorado Buffaloes quarterback and top NFL prospect Shedeur Sanders has discussed his shoe and football cleat of choice ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft. While visiting a sneaker store and being shown a rare pair of Nike Air Jordan shoes, Sanders detailed how he only wears his father’s shoes and cleats.

Sanders is the son of “Prime Time,” Deion Sanders. Widely regarded as one of the greatest defensive players of all time, Coach Prime has recently re-released his own custom line of shoes, the Nike Air Diamond Turf shoes.

What Did Shedeur Sanders Say About His Shoe Preference?

Sanders made it clear that he only wears his father’s brand of shoes. The popular Buffaloes fan account @SkoBuffsGoBuffs reposted the clip on X (formerly Twitter), provided some analysis of the conversation, and credited Deion Sanders Jr. for the video.

“Shedeur Sanders after being showed a rare pair of Jordans in the Sneaker Store 👀 ‘I only wear Dad (Deion Sanders) shoes’, ‘I don’t wear nobody else shoes, I don’t wear Jordans…My Dad got his own shoe’ 🎥 : @DeionSandersJr,” the post detailed.

Sanders is one of the most exciting prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft. At this time, he is widely expected to be selected within the top five picks of the draft, and is in contention to be the No. 1 quarterback off the board. It looks as though the only other QB who has the chance of being chosen ahead of Sanders is Miami Hurricanes star Cam Ward.

    Sanders’ 2025 NFL Draft Projection

Sanders is an extremely accurate quarterback who has a strong, NFL-ready arm. He has shown time and time again in college his poise and calmness while in the pocket for the Buffaloes. He has a high football IQ, something on display in his ability to analyze defensive coverages pre-snap, and is quite mobile when needed to be.

In PFSN’s recent 7-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft, Sanders was selected No. 2 overall by the Cleveland Browns, behind Ward, who went No. 1 to the Tennessee Titans.

“While the Cleveland Browns may not be the most desirable landing spot for off-field elements for Shedeur Sanders, it is far from a bad situation for the Colorado quarterback. The Browns have a lot of pieces in place around Sanders and were really only held back by the quarterback play in 2024.

“Sanders is a promising NFL prospect. He is a pocket passer with enough mobility to make him effective. There are concerns about his arm strength, but he mitigates those with his compact release and impressive accuracy. Those mechanics can hide concerns when pressured, which is a concern with the Browns’ offensive line ranking 20th last season.”
