Meet Jordan John McVay, Los Angeles Rams Head Coach Sean McVay’s Son

Rams head coach Sean McVay welcomed his son, Jordan John McVay, into the world In October 2023. How did they come up with the name?

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay married the love of his life, Veronika Khomyn, on June 4, 2022, at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The lovebirds first met when McVay was a tight end coach with the Washington Commanders and Khomyn was still a student at George Mason University in Virginia. Khomyn is a model and a licensed real estate agent with two degrees.

Flash forward to 2023, McVay and Khomyn welcomed a baby boy to the world.

Where Did Sean McVay’s Son Get His Name From?

McVay and his wife have one child together, Jordan John McVay, who was born in October 2023.

After the team’s Instagram page announced the arrival of McVay’s son in the most adorable way, the Rams head coach shared his thought process during a press conference after becoming a first-time dad: “Everybody kind of tells you what to expect, and it couldn’t even be as good as everybody says,” McVay said. “And they certainly talked about what a special moment it was.”

He further appreciated his wife for being so strong during the whole process and said, ” It’s just amazing how well my wife handled it and what a stud she was throughout that whole process, and even yesterday. The people were amazing in terms of the nurses, the doctors, and their help.”

Jordan’s middle name is after McVay’s grandfather, John McVay, a former San Francisco 49ers executive. He passed away a year before Jordan’s birth, which also played a crucial part in further solidifying the Rams head coach’s faith.

McVay’s son’s original due date was on the exact date when Jordan McVay passed away; talking about the coincidence, the Rams head coach said:

“And if you don’t believe in a higher power, there’s certain things that occur that, man, you just realize there’s something special going on,” McVay said. “I come from a family of faith, I’m a man of faith. The influence that you guys know my grandfather had on me — but also our family, he had a special relationship with Veronika as well — and so thought that was only appropriate to be able to name him, have his middle name after my grandfather.

“His legacy he lives on and I know he’s looking down, smiling with what occurred yesterday.”
