Odell Beckham Jr. and the Baltimore Ravens are enjoying a nice relaxing week off right now. Such are the perks of a team that has earned the No. 1 seed in the conference. The Ravens look poised to make serious noise in the playoffs this year and are many people’s pick for the Super Bowl.
It’s been a long time coming for OBJ, and his ride to getting to this point with the Ravens was a bumpy one. One that he acknowledges was not the best situation for him or the teams involved.
During a recent podcast, the star wide receiver discussed his previous experiences with other teams. He stated that he and his former team were aware that their working relationship was not beneficial for either party and that it was not a positive situation.
Odell Beckham Jr. Opens Up About the Trade to Cleveland
While on the latest episode of the Punch Line Podcast, hosted by teammate Marlon Humphrey, OBJ was surprisingly candid about his prior stop and how he did not think that joining the Cleveland Browns was a good fit for him.
The Giants knew that and chose to do it anyway.

“You know there is a semi a bit of me like that feels like the Giants sent me off, I said it before, sent me off to Cleveland to die,” he started.
“I could’ve went to the 49ers, as I could have went to the Patriots. I could have went to teams that had, you know a chance to be great and that’s not what the desire was.
“You can’t tell me this was the best trade package we could have got for me. You know, you’re desire was to, you know, kind of f*** me over a little bit, it’s how I feel you know?
“I feel like I was being wasted as well, you know like stats is cool and s***, but like when you lose, it doesn’t feel like, ok cool I had 1,300, whatever, 1,400 yards, and this many touchdowns, was like..you lost.”
It’s clear that OBJ was misunderstood during his time in New York and states that his passion to win was wrongly perceived to be something else than how he intended.
As a result, he believes he was sent to Cleveland as a way to get back at him, or not put him in the best position to be successful.

Despite all that in the past, in the current day, Beckham’s opportunity for team success has never been better. He’s on a talented Ravens team that is favored to win the Super Bowl and has an MVP candidate throwing him the football.
It looks like OBJ may have gotten the last laugh after all.
