Is Rashod Bateman Playing in Week 16?

The Ravens added Bateman to the practice report on Wednesday with a foot issue. He was listed as limited. Normally, this would be of no concern. However, Bateman did not have the injury on Tuesday, which suggests he picked it up at Wednesday’s practice.

Bateman did not practice at all on Thursday, which confirms my suspicions. Bateman has dealt with foot issues in the past, so this could be an aggravation or flare-up of a preexisting injury. With the Ravens only activating one WR from the practice squad to account for Nelson Agholor’s absence, I am cautiously optimistic that Bateman ends up playing.

We’ll continue to monitor the Ravens’ injury report. You can also visit and bookmark our NFL Injury Tracker and Fantasy News Tracker for the latest updates.

Should You Start or Sit Rashod Bateman in Week 16?

I don’t think I need to sell or persuade you on Bateman; you know exactly what you’re signing up for. For his career, Bateman’s average TD reception length is 30.5 yards, and if you’re considering him, you’re very much relying on that double-digit point play.

Bateman has scored seven times this season, but six have come against awfully vulnerable defenses (Giants, Bengals, Buccaneers, and Cowboys). You can isolate the 40-yard score against the Chargers if you want and use that as ammo for Flexing him in a tough spot, but let’s not lose track of the fact that he had one catch for three yards in that game outside of the broken coverage.

Is that level of downside something you’re willing to take on?
