Davante Adams is headed to his fourth NFL team, still chasing his first Super Bowl appearance. The former second-round pick has built a stellar career and cemented himself as one of the top wide receivers of the modern era.
Now entering his 13th season, Adams and the Los Angeles Rams may have found the perfect match — one that could turn into a storybook ending.

How L.A. Rams, Davante Adams Came Together
Rams general manager Les Snead joined Kay Adams on “Up & Adams” and broke down the why, how, and where of the team’s pursuit of Adams.
Snead opened by discussing his competitive nature and how he disconnects when the Rams aren’t playing in the big game. Ironically, that’s when talks with Adams began heating up. He explained how the wheels started turning once he heard the New York Jets might be moving on from the star wideout.
“It was probably the week of the Super Bowl. Sean [McVay] was at the Super Bowl,” Snead said. “I was rejuvenating in Hawaii, I like to call it. Because I am a competitor, I hate going to the Super Bowl when you’re not in it, and most years you’re not in it.”
That time away seemed to do the trick. Snead and the Rams started to feel like Adams was not only in reach but also a natural fit.
“That was the first time where, oh maybe the Jets are gonna move on from Davante,” Snead said. “So I know Sean and I talked during that week. Especially if we continue partnering with Matthew [Stafford], that’d be a nice piece of the puzzle to add.”

Kay Adams then asked what Stafford thought about teaming up with the veteran receiver. According to Snead, the Rams quarterback was all-in.
“I think he was really, really jacked,” Snead said. “Sean likes to sit with his players, walk through, ‘OK, if we bring Davante on, this is what I’m thinking. What do you think?’ You start thinking about chemistry of the room, and if you put all the pieces together and help them work together, collaborate, and let Sean deploy the pieces on the chess table. And Matthew and that group has to go execute.”
How Adams Fits With New-Look Rams Offense
The departure of Cooper Kupp was no surprise for the Rams. But finding his replacement — and a new running mate for Puka Nacua — wasn’t so clear. Now, with a potential upgrade based on where each player is in their career, Adams is ready to roll alongside Nacua and veteran QB Matthew Stafford.
Adams has dealt with rough seasons, including injuries, coaching shake-ups, and bouncing between teams. But now, in what appears to be a stable environment, No. 17 is hoping to get back into the 1,000-yard club for the first time since 2023.
Even before adding Adams, the Rams’ offense wasn’t lacking talent. Stafford has plenty of options with a young backfield of Kyren Williams and Blake Corum, plus a receiving unit led by Nacua and now Adams. The 2025 season will be his 17th in the league, and if the Rams make another Super Bowl run, expect Adams to play a huge part in it.
