Raiders Fan Ice Cube Makes Feelings Clear on No. 6 Pick in NFL Draft and Shedeur Sanders Rumors

Everyone has thoughts on where Colorado Buffaloes star quarterback Shedeur Sanders should land in the 2025 NFL Draft. Plenty of scouts and people around the NFL believe Sanders will fall out of the top 10 — and potentially even out of the first round.

Meanwhile, PFSN’s Jacob Infante has the Pittsburgh Steelers trading their first-round (No. 21 overall) and third-round picks (No. 83 overall), along with a 2026 first-rounder, in his latest mock draft to the New York Jets in exchange for pick No. 7 to draft Sanders.

Yet, there’s a certain Las Vegas Raiders fan who hopes his team snags Sanders at No. 6 overall.

Ice Cube Wants Raiders To Draft Shedeur Sanders

Tommy Tran of NFL on CBS asked Ice Cube if he would want Sanders if he’s available to the Raiders. “Of course,” he said.

“Ya know, I think his pedigree, you cannot dismiss that,” Ice Cube said. “He’s seen how to do it at the professional level for a very long time. Has a great, amazing coach, Hall of Famer, Deion Sanders … I think he’s ready for the NFL, and if he’s there, the Raiders should take him.

“And if not, the Raiders should probably look at the defensive side of the ball because they still gotta deal with some great quarterbacks in the AFC West. We gotta make sure we can stop somebody. Cause scoring ain’t the only thing. We got some great quarterbacks out here.”

According to most draft boards, however, including Infante’s, the Raiders are expected to target Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty. Jeanty finished last season with video game-type numbers — 2,601 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns — and many believe new head coach Pete Carroll will want a centerpiece for his ground game.

If the Raiders went Ice Cube’s route, they could get their quarterback of the future. However, that might cause the same drama Atlanta stirred up with Kirk Cousins.

It’s hard to picture a scenario where Carroll, who’s in a win-now mindset, would want to disrupt the chemistry he’s built with Geno Smith. Carroll brought Smith to Las Vegas after mentoring him in Seattle, hoping to stabilize the team.

As it stands, the Raiders could be in position to draft Sanders, but they have bigger needs. Vegas’ offensive line ranked 23rd in the NFL last year in PFSN’s OL+ metric, with a 2024 season score of 69.4 (D+).

The vibe around this pick is that the Raiders could grab Jeanty, then stack up on offensive linemen on Days 2 and 3. Either way, they have to beef up their ground game.
