Podcast: Cincinnati Bengals Free Agent Draft, Brian Callahan’s HC Interviews, and More

The Cincinnati Bengals are facing one of their most critical offseasons in recent memory. With their Super Bowl dreams dashed in 2023, the Bengals are eyeing 2024 as a make-or-break campaign.

Which free agents will be back next year? On the most recent edition of The PFN Bengals Podcast, we discuss OC Brian Callahan’s shot at a head coaching job and Willie Anderson’s Hall of Fame chances before drafting Cincinnati’s pending FAs.

PFN Bengals Podcast: Free Agent Draft Edition

The Bengals boast one of the more impressive 2024 free agent classes, but that’s not necessarily a good thing. While Cincinnati has cap space to retain some of its preferred veterans, some of their FAs will undoubtedly land elsewhere.

We know about the “Big Five” — WR Tee Higgins, WR Tyler Boyd, OT Jonah Williams, DT DJ Reader, and CB Chidobe Awuzie.

Higgins will almost certainly be franchise-tagged, but will the Bengals be able to sign any of their other high-profile free agents?

And what about depth pieces? Tight ends Tanner Hudson, Drew Sample, Mitchell Wilcox, and Irv Smtih Jr. are all headed for the open market. Backup offensive linemen Cody Ford and Max Scharping’s contracts are expiring — the same goes for LBs/special teamers Akeem Davis-Gaither, Markus Bailey, and Joe Bachie.

Before we draft the Bengals’ upcoming class, we also discuss whether Callahan will find a head coaching job after interviewing with four teams this offseason. And will Anderson finally make his way into the Pro Football Hall of Fame?

Cincinnati’s season may be over, but The PFN Bengals Podcast isn’t going anywhere.
