After an exciting start to free agency, the Philadelphia Eagles have continued to make moves this offseason. Following several notable additions early in the offseason, the Eagles have shifted their focus to signing the young, foundational players on their roster to long-term contract extensions.

After signing Jake Elliott, Landon Dickerson, and Jordan Mailata to long-term extensions, DeVonta Smith could be up next for the Eagles. Philadelphia’s Week 1 opponent in Brazil was also officially announced on Wednesday.

DeVonta Smith Contract Projection: How Much Will the Eagles’ WR Command?

Despite the presence of star wide receiver A.J. Brown, Philadelphia is likely going to sign Smith to a massive contract extension. At just 25 years old, he’s one of the best young wide receivers in the NFL and deserves to be paid like a top player at the position.

The Eagles should look to sign Smith to an extension soon, which will allow them to get ahead of other teams also looking to reward their young wide receivers.

Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers Set To Square Off in Brazil Week 1

While it seemed like the Cleveland Browns would be Philadelphia’s Week 1 opponent in Brazil, that report wasn’t true. The Eagles will face a team with a winning record in the prior season in Week 1 for the first time since 2018.

Given all of the changes to Philadelphia’s roster this offseason, it will be interesting to see how they handle such a difficult test against the Green Bay Packers to open the regular season.

Eagles Can Wear All-Black Uniforms in 2024 After NFL Approves a Third Helmet Design

The Eagles were forced to make a difficult decision with their uniforms last season. When they introduced the Kelly Green uniforms, Philadelphia was forced to abandon the black alternate helmets that they used in 2022.

Yet, the NFL has reportedly revised the helmet rule, allowing teams to now have three helmet designs next season, instead of just two.

Jersey Numbers Revealed for Philadelphia’s Newest Additions

While the jersey numbers for most of Philadelphia’s major additions have been officially announced, there hasn’t been much talk about the other players. That is until the jersey numbers of several Eagles players were recently revealed on social media.

One notable change is quarterback Kenny Pickett switching to No. 7 after Haason Reddick was traded to the New York Jets.
