The Texas Rose Festival in Tyler, Texas, is one of the most awaited events of the year, and this one was particularly special as many of the Kansas City Chiefs women marked their attendance during the festival.
Chiefs’ heiress Gracie Hunt, Tavia Shackles Hunt — the wife of Chiefs owner Clark Hunt — and Patrick Mahomes’ mom, Randi Mahomes, graced the event wearing stunning colorful gowns.
Tavia appeared at the festival “as the Ladies Luncheon speaker to talk Faith, Family, & Football” and talked about her experience at the event through a heartwarming Instagram post:
“I’m still amazed at the fanfare and festivities at the Texas Tyler Rose Festival! Thank you for having me as the Ladies Luncheon speaker to talk Faith, Family, & Football—and a little pageantry! Thank you to Shelly Slater (the actual best!!) for the interview, Ann Brookshire, Cassie Hempe, and Kathryn Beach for your incredible help and hospitality!
“Thank you to the lovely, kind people of Tyler for showing me why Tyler is the treasure of Texas. (Thanks, Randi & Patrick, for making them Chiefs fans!🙌🏼).”
Reacting to Tavia’s shoutout, Mahomes replied to the post and wrote, “Thank you for all you do! Your dedication to your faith, family, and, of course, football is inspiring.”
Who Is Clark Hunt’s Wife, Tavia Shackles Hunt?
Tavia has constantly supported her husband Clark, who has led the Chiefs to four Super Bowl trophies since he took over in 2006.
Clark has taken the opportunity to appreciate his wife’s efforts, especially during an interview with the Chiefs in 2013.
“My wife Tavia is an amazing mother. She loves our children and literally would do anything for them.”
He added, “She’s also a great teacher; she takes every opportunity to instruct them, whether it’s something in terms of our faith, in terms of school, or how they treat those around them; she’s just an amazing mom.”
The couple married in 1993 and share three children: Ava, Gracie, and Knobel Hunt. All three kids, especially Gracie, are super involved in the family business.
Tavia is from Kansas City, Mo., and was crowned Miss Missouri Teen USA and Miss Kansas USA while she was younger.
Though Tavia is an important glue for her family and does an exceptional job supporting her husband, she has passions of her own. She is the director of the Chiefs Women’s Organization, a union of NFL wives and girlfriends (WAGs) that aims to give back to the community.
