Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, in addition to being a three-time Super Bowl MVP, is also a devoted husband and father of three. Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, have built a family that has grown alongside his NFL career, often cheering him on from the stands during some of his biggest moments.
Get to Know Patrick Mahomes’ Family
Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes met as teenagers at Whitehouse High School in Texas. They were friends for about a year before they began dating in 2012, when Patrick was a sophomore, and Brittany was a junior. Their relationship grew after Patrick gave Brittany a Valentine’s Day card and rose in their school cafeteria, a gesture that prompted their friends to chant “kiss him,” a moment Brittany has recalled as both awkward and sweet.
The two attended prom together in 2013 and 2014, supporting each other as young athletes: Patrick, a football and baseball player, and Brittany, a soccer player. They maintained their relationship through long-distance in college and early professional life before Patrick proposed during the Chiefs’ Super Bowl ring ceremony on Sept. 1, 2020. They married on March 12, 2022, in Hawaii.
Patrick and Brittany welcomed their first child, daughter Sterling Skye, on Feb. 20, 2021, in Kansas City, Missouri. Since then, Sterling has been a regular presence at Chiefs games. She often sports custom game-day outfits, including pieces decorated with her dad’s jersey number. Brittany has shared that Sterling loves watching her dad play football and looks forward to seeing him on the field before games. Sterling was the flower girl at her parents’ 2022 wedding, rolling down the aisle in a tiny blue car.
Their second child, son Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, was born on Nov. 28, 2022. His arrival was announced with a photo of his tiny feet resting on a blanket embroidered with “Mahomes.”
“I’m going to teach my son, my daughter all the fundamentals and whatever they want to learn. But at the same time, I want to let it be about them,” Patrick said, via PEOPLE.
“That’s what my dad did growing up, that’s what my parents did. They didn’t pressure me to do anything. I think that’s why I’m in the position I am today.”
Bronze joined the family’s game-day traditions early, attending the 2023 Super Bowl in Arizona and the 2024 Super Bowl in Las Vegas with his mom and big sister. Before Bronze’s second birthday, Patrick celebrated his son with a special Adidas collaboration: the Mahomes 2 Impact FLX Bronze training shoe, released in November 2024.
Patrick and Brittany welcomed their third child, daughter Golden Raye, on Jan. 12, 2025. They announced her birth with a black-and-white photo of her feet cradled in her parents’ hands.
