‘He’s Going To Compete’ – No Guarantees for Will Levis As Titans Explores QB Options in 2025 NFL Draft

Tennessee Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi has detailed how quarterback Will Levis will need to compete for the starting QB role next season. He also made clear that he would do what is in the best interest of the franchise, even if that meant drafting a quarterback in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft.

What Did Mike Borgonzi Say About Will Levis?

Borgonzi made clear that nothing was off the table in the upcoming NFL Draft.

NFL.com senior news writer Kevin Patra provided some of the quotes from Borgonzi’s statements, which are used below and can be found in the link above.

“At the end of the day, we have to make the best decision for the Titans. And if we deem taking a quarterback is the most important thing right now, then we’ll do that,” Borgonzi stated.

He then continued by highlighting how Levis would need to compete for the starting job next campaign.

“So you have to get that right. We have to solidify that position. And we have Will on the roster right now, and he’s going to compete with whoever we bring in. We have one quarterback on the roster, so we’re bringing people in. And Will will compete with them as well,” Borgonzi added.

This past year, Levis had 2,091 passing yards, 13 passing touchdowns, and 12 interceptions in 12 regular season games. Meanwhile, Rudolph amassed 1,530 passing yards, nine passing touchdowns, and nine interceptions in eight contests. As a result of this inconsistent quarterback play, the Titans finished the season with a record of 3-14 and now hold the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.

In PFSN latest 7-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft completed by Ben Rolfe, the Titans opted to bring in competition for Levis, as the franchise selected Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick.

As Rolfe notes, “The Tennessee Titans need an answer at quarterback, and Cam Ward is how the winds seem to be blowing right now. Of course, there are plenty of evaluation steps still to be done, and there are some intriguing ways the team could go.

Ward is a fantastic playmaker at the position and would add dynamism to the offense. He is far from the finished product, which is a concern given that this Titans offense is not currently set up to be a place for developing a quarterback. However, getting to work with Brian Callahan should only bring the best out of him in the NFL.”
