NFL Weather Report and Forecast for NFL Conference Championship Games

With only four games on the slate for the NFL‘s Conference Championship Round, the weather report is going to be a bit shorter. As with tradition, we break down the slate and see what the NFL weather forecast and report will look like for the Conference Championship Round tilts this weekend.

NFL Weather Forecast and Report | Conference Championship

Please note that all times are eastern standard time, and the NFL Conference Championship Round weather report will be updated if any changes happen from the time of writing up until kickoff. The NFL weather forecast for the Conference Championship Round of the playoffs is based on information from the National Weather Service.

Overall, we have been relatively lucky when it comes to weather. Sure, we have seen some flurries in Buffalo and some wind. However, nothing has had a massive impact on the games. That is a trend that should hold true for the Conference Championship games.

The weather forecast suggests a slight chance of wintery conditions in Green Bay for the Conference Championship Round

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5) at Green Bay Packers (1), Sunday 3:05 PM ET

You don’t get the name “The Frozen Tundra” for no reason. Once again, it will live up to that moniker.

As when it comes to any NFL weather forecast, the closer you get to kickoff, the more accurate it becomes. The way things stand right now, we should be in the clear, but it could change rapidly.

Starting in the early hours of the morning, snow will begin to blanket the Green Bay area, and up to three inches of snow could fall by noon. With this being a 3:05 PM ET kickoff, we have a bit of a buffer from the snow. Some snow flurries are expected to linger in the area up until and beyond kickoff, but accumulation won’t be an issue as things stand right now. Once we get closer to kickoff and models update, we will update this if anything changes.

Outside of the snow, it will be a cold day for Tom Brady and the Buccaneers, who are used to Florida weather. Thanks to seven mph winds and overcast skies, temperatures will sit around 30-degrees, with wind chills falling to 23-degrees.

If the Packers have the lead at halftime, history says they will be advancing to the Super Bowl. When Aaron Rodgers has a halftime lead at Lambeau Field, he is 63-1-1 in his career.

Worry-free NFL weather forecast for the Conference Championship in the AFC

Buffalo Bills (2) at Kansas City Chiefs (1), Sunday 6:40 PM ET

Unlike Green Bay, the NFL weather forecast report for Kansas City should be no issue. After a blustery Divisional Round game, winds calm down this week, and they should hover around six mph. Cloudy skies will hang over Arrowhead Stadium, with temperatures sitting at 40-degrees. There is a 30% chance of some passing light rain, but things should be smooth sailing.

The big news of the whole weekend is that Chiefs’ QB Patrick Mahomes has cleared concussion protocol and is active for Sunday’s game. With the Bills back in the Conference Championships for the first time since 1993, they will have to knock off the defending Super Bowl champs at full strength.
