NFL Thanksgiving Games Today: TV Schedule, Channels, Live Stream Options, and More
Since 2006, the NFL has aired three Thanksgiving day games starting at 12:30 p.m. ET. The Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys continue their storied traditions of being hosts on Turkey Day as they engage in divisional battles in 2023. The league scheduled an NFC West showdown between the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks to keep the drama high in the NFL Thanksgiving games.

With three games and plenty of food, fun, and football to enjoy, let’s take a look at how to watch each NFL Thanksgiving game today.
Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions
- Start time: 12:30 p.m. ET
- Channel: FOX
- Live stream options: Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, FOX Now
The Lions have been playing on Thanksgiving for the last 89 years. However, they have a less-than-stellar record, going 37-44-2 in those games. However, at 8-2 this season, the Lions hope to win their first Turkey Day matchup since 2016’s 16-13 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. This will also be the 22nd time the Lions and Green Bay Packers have met on Thanksgiving, the most between two teams in NFL history.
Despite the Packers being 3-1 in the series since 2006, the Lions hold the overall Thanksgiving record at 12-8-1, and that shouldn’t change this season. While Detroit is proving to be an NFC Super Bowl contender, the Packers will rebuild this offense in the offseason, sitting at 4-6 and third in the NFC North. While a late playoff push could be made, Green Bay QB Jordan Love and the offense won’t be able to keep pace with Detroit.
Green Bay’s offensive output is just the start. The defense isn’t doing the team any favors, either. The Lions have run 50.8% of their offensive plays on their opponent’s side of the field since 2022, the best in the NFL. The Packers are allowing opponents to run 47.1% of plays in their territory, the fourth-worst. If Green Bay can’t slow QB Jared Goff and the Lions down, Detroit will have another four-game win streak this season.
Washington Commanders at Dallas Cowboys
- Start time: 4:30 p.m. ET
- Channel: CBS
- Live stream options: Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, CBS All-Access
The Commanders are desperate for a divisional win after getting swept by the Eagles and Giants. Will the Cowboys follow suit? Defensive coordinator Dan Quinn can put on a defensive clinic today.

The Cowboys are 7-1 this season when forcing one or more turnovers. Washington is tied for the most turnovers in the NFL, giving the ball away 21 times in 2023. Commanders QBs have been sacked 99 times since 2022, with Sam Howell on track to break the record for most times sacked in a season this year. The Cowboys have sacked the QB 87 times since last season. Can the defensive line feast on a bottom-five offensive line?
Even if the defense lets a few drives by, QB Dak Prescott should have no issues picking apart the Commanders defense. Trading away DEs Chase Young and Montez Sweat has taken massive talent out of the pass rush. Washington has pressured opposing QBs on just 18.7% of passing plays since Week 8, the fourth worst in the league. It would be surprising to see Dallas lose this game.
San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks
- Start time: 8:20 p.m. ET
- Channel: NBC
- Live stream options: Peacock
After a quick three-game hiccup, the 49ers are back on track like the losing streak never happened. With some of their key pieces back from injuries, the 49ers are ready for a second-half push for the top of the NFC.
Meanwhile, the Seahawks are dealing with the opposite. QB Geno Smith was banged up last week in Seattle’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams. The veteran QB was limited in practice Tuesday and couldn’t throw until Wednesday. Even more concerning is the status of RB Kenneth Walker III, who suffered an oblique strain last week. The Seahawks have a must-win game, but the chances aren’t high if they are missing multiple pieces on offense.
After their hot start, the Seahawks are starting to lose some steam. Seattle has allowed 7 yards after the catch since Week 8, the worst in the league. Both San Francisco WR Brandon Aiyuk and TE George Kittle are averaging more yards after the catch with 8.0 and 8.6, respectively. Seattle has also allowed 25 points per game since Week 8. Can the Seahawks recover from back-to-back losses in a crowded NFC playoff picture?
