NFL Insider Reveals Why Ashton Jeanty’s Draft Stock Continues To Soar

NFL Insider Jeremy Fowler took to X to call Ashton Jeanty "one of the 'cleanest' prospects" in the draft, and there are plenty who agree.

As it often is, this year’s running back class is stacked at what is arguably the most difficult position to stand out unless that is, your name is Ashton Jeanty. Particularly, NFL Insider Jeremy Fowler called him “one of the ‘cleanest’ prospects” in the draft, and there are plenty who agree.

According to the tweet by Fowler, “Feedback from scouts is Jeanty is definitely one of the ‘cleanest’ prospects, on and off the field. High character, coupled with the obvious talent.” Watching the accompanying video, it’s clear why the Boise running back is garnering attention.

Ashton Jeanty On The Field

Ashton Jeanty had 2,601 rushing yards and 29 rushing touchdowns in 2024, and his elite vision, contact balance, and twitchy movement allow him to explode through running lanes and exploit space.

His stats last year were enough for a Heisman candidacy, but Jeanty was prolific in 2023 as well, with 569 yards and five touchdowns as a receiver.

There’s no doubt that Jeanty’s explosiveness could be exactly what many teams like the Las Vegas Raiders, who currently hold the No. 6 pick, need to reinvigorate the offense. However, should the Raiders pass on Jeanty, it’s unlikely he’ll tumble much farther down the draft board.

It’s not only Fowler who took to social media to post the video showing Jeanty being the beast he is either. NFL broadcaster Louis Riddick also posted on X with a one-word statement that says all that needs to be said.

“Bruh” is right. The player on the field looks like he’s gearing up to be a true difference-maker, likely to stack performances for whichever team drafts him. In three seasons at Boise State, the prospect recorded 4,769 total yards and 50 career touchdowns. And don’t forget, contributing to his stats was the 178-yard, one-touchdown show he put on in the 2022 Frisco Bowl.

Ashton Jeanty Off The Field

Interestingly, Jeanty initially played Quarterback as a freshman at Naples Middle/High School, a school for military dependents located near Naples, Italy. That didn’t last long, though, as he was moved to running back after two games and has been working to redefine the positions since.

After racking up 1,200 yards and 21 touchdowns in six games, Jeanty ended up at Lone Star High School in Frisco, TX, and ultimately at Boise State.

Throughout his journey, those who have had a chance to meet Jeanty say his character is everything you’d want it to be, and it is for all these reasons that insiders like Fowler have deemed his stock ready to soar.
