Football is back in full swing, and while that is awesome, unfortunately, that means the return of players who get injured while playing in games that mean nothing in the win-loss column.

NFL Injury Updates | Preseason Week 1

As more information becomes available, we will update this article, so be sure to check back.

Running Back Kendre Miller Leaves Game With Apparent Knee Injury

The New Orleans Saints are excited about their new third-round draft pick out of TCU. However, Kendre Miller’s first NFL action ended abruptly when he suffered an apparent knee injury in Sunday’s game.

While it is not ideal to see anyone get hurt, let alone after just four carries, it looks as if the Saints may have dodged a bigger issue here as Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports that the team believes Miller may be ready for Week 1.

The Saints backfield is going to be paper-thin early in the season as starting running back Alvin Kamara will miss the first three games of the season due to a suspension, leaving newly signed NFL veteran Jamaal Williams to be the main guy in the backfield early on.

Miller factors into the Saints’ plans, and while the injury is worth monitoring, all signs seem much better than they could’ve been for the rookie.

Linebacker Shaun Bradley Ruptures Achilles, Ending His Season

Eagles linebacker Shaun Bradley ruptured his Achilles in the first preseason game of the year, forcing the team to place Bradley on the injured reserve list. In a corresponding move, the Eagles have added defensive tackle Olive Sagapolu to the roster to fill the spot.

Any injury is tough, but you certainly feel for the guys who see their season get cut down so suddenly in a meaningless football game. Bradley is a core special teams player for the Eagles, and his presence will be missed on that unit this season.

Quarterback Tyler Huntley Tweaks Hamstring in First Action of the Year

Pro Bowler Tyler Huntley came out of Saturday night’s game with a tweaked hamstring. All indications are that it is minor and is of no big concern for the Ravens, according to Tom Pelissero.

Huntley turned in a Pro Bowl campaign in relief of Jackson last season, and while the injury appears to be minor, his availability will be worth monitoring as we get closer to Week 1.

Linebacker Jacob Phillips’ Season Is Over Due To A Torn Pectoral

Cleveland Browns linebacker Jacob Phillips is on the receiving end of terrible luck once again. Phillips saw his 2022 season end early late in the year due to a pectoral issue. Fast forward to now, and it has happened again for the young linebacker.

These are the type of things that are tough to see at any point, but certainly when they happen early in the preseason. Phillips will be put on the injured reserve and have a year to rehab and give it another go in 2024.

Tight End Isaiah Likely Leaves Game Early With Undisclosed Injury

The Ravens have another injury to attend to, and this time it is young breakout tight end Isaiah Likely. Just what Likely is dealing with and the severity of the injury is still unknown at this time.

Continue to check in here, as we will update Likely’s status and the rest of the league’s injuries as more information becomes available.
