Maxx Crosby has proved that he is one of the best defensive players in the NFL over the past several seasons. He was named to the Pro Bowl in each of the past four seasons and was named to the All-Pro Second Team in 2021 and 2023.
The defensive end has spent his entire career, starting in 2019, with the Las Vegas Raiders. On Wednesday, NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Raiders are making him the highest-paid non-QB in the league.

Fans React After Maxx Crosby Signs the Largest Contract in the NFL by a Non-QB

“Just like during the Howie Long era when they couldn’t move past him and the franchise continued to decline despite having its golden boy in the fold They should’ve traded Crosby at the peak and tried to rebuild their franchise from the ground up,” one fan commented.
“Look, Maxx is a hell of a player. I honestly do not get this move. A new contract when they had him under control for two more years is weird. It screams “please don’t leave us”,” one fan added.

Maxx Crosby had a great season in 2024, but only appeared in 2024 because of an ankle injury. In those games, he registered 45 total tackles, including 28 solo efforts, 7.5 sacks, and 17 tackles for loss.
While Crosby is a great year, and signing him makes sense, it puts the Raiders in an interesting situation. The Raiders are entering a rebuild, and as a result, they will be trying to have high draft picks for the next few seasons.
Signing Crosby will not help with that goal. As a result, some fans believe they should have traded him rather than signing him to this huge contract.
