‘Throw Was High’ — NFL Fans Pin Blame on Josh Allen as Keon Coleman Drops Potential TD Catch in the Red Zone

    Published on

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen faces the brunt of NFL fans as rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman fails to capitalize on a first-half pass.

The Buffalo Bills were embroiled in a head-to-toe tussle with the Miami Dolphins in Week 9 of the NFL season. However, the circumstances could have been different for head coach Sean McDermott and Co. if rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman hadn’t dropped a pass from quarterback Josh Allen right at the touchdown line.

NFL Fans Refuse To Throw Keon Coleman Under the Bus

The game was tied at 3-3 in the early second quarter when the Bills had the opportunity to take the lead. They didn’t have to do much from the 10-yard line. The combo of QB Josh Allen and WR Keon Coleman had to execute one regulation play, but all went wrong.

Jalen Ramsey intercepted Allen’s pass to Coleman as the former Florida State Seminoles athlete failed to hold on to a simple throw. However, NFL fans are divided over whose mistake it really was and are pinning the blame on the 28-year-old QB. When one X user wrote. “First big mistake of Keon Coleman’s career. That’s a killer in the red zone like that,” another replied: “Throw was high”

Another fan said: “Josh Allen tries to cram one in to Keon Coleman and a turnover is made. Went from Fantasy glee to glum in a second.”

One fan had all figured out with his comment: “Keon Coleman the king of drops and Josh Allen the king of redzone turnovers. Perfect match.”

“Josh Allen can’t throw the ball accurately to save his life right now. His mechanics are garbage,” said another.

The minute I bet on a game all of a sudden Josh Allen don’t know how to throw a f*cking ball,” one more said.

One fan wrote, “But i thought josh Allen doesn’t throw interceptions LMAO

When Coleman Urged Allen To Throw Again

The Bills receiver proved he’s not afraid to face elite defenders. In an opening drive against the Seattle Seahawks last Sunday, the Bills were just five yards from the end zone when Allen targeted Coleman. Pro Bowl corner Riq Woolen was onto the action at once, preventing the rookie WR from completing the catch. But that didn’t stop Coleman.

He returned to the huddle and assured Allen he’d secure it if given another chance.

“We miscued on the first one. I told him, just put it even higher and give me another shot at it. He gave me another shot, and I went up there and made the play,” Coleman said.

Though he is just in his rookie season, Coleman has shown the capacity to grow his game and fight through the ups and downs, showing plenty of promise in a reworked wide receiver room in Buffalo, N.Y.
