Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos played against the New Orleans Saints on “Thursday Night Football” in Week 7. Denver came into this game with a record of 3-3, hoping to get back to winning ways after a 23-16 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers last week.
The Saints are currently on a four-game losing streak. They are without Derek Carr, Chris Olave, and Rashid Shaheed for the game against the Broncos. Nix made a mistake during the first quarter of the game and fans on social media called him out.
Fans React to Bo Nix’s Mistake
Nix tried connecting with tight end Lucas Krull but missed a wide-open throw. The Broncos were held to a field goal on their opening drive. Here’s how fans reacted to the rookie’s mistake:
As a Broncos fan, I know this guy is gonna be another bust. I have not seen any good things from him.

“Bo Nix doing Bo Nix things,” said one fan.
“No pressure at all, and his footwork is HORRENDOUS. How is this guy even on the field,” added another fan.
Bro had two open receivers in the same area and missed them both 😬 https://t.co/HnisfUUbm2

“Broncos fans think this guy will save them …” said one fan.
I can’t believe Sean Payton got the Vikings to draft JJ McCarthy😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 https://t.co/D9r0BWxXbA

At the time of writing, the Broncos led by 6-0, with Wil Lutz converting both his field goal attempts. Nix was 7-of-11 for 54 yards and rushed for 31 yards on five carries.
Hopefully, the Broncos quarterback will play better in the second half and win some fans over. With so many key players out, it will be hard for the Saints to win this game, and the Broncos should get their fourth win of the season tonight.
How Has Nix Played So Far?
The Broncos drafted Nix with the 12th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He played five years in college and, due to his experience, won the starting quarterback job ahead of Zach Wilson and Jarrett Stidham in the training camp.
Before Week 7, Nix had thrown for 1,082 yards with five touchdowns and five interceptions, completing 61.1% of his throws. He also rushed for 180 yards and three touchdowns on 37 carries.
Denver has won three games, but that is largely due to their defense. The Broncos offense has averaged 18.7 points and just 287.7 yards of total offense per game this season.
The start of his NFL career has not been ideal for Nix, but the Broncos do not have elite players at skill positions to help him out. This is just a testing season for the rookie, and the team will hope to put better players around him next season.
On the positive side, their defense is still elite despite the loss of Justin Simmons. Hopefully, Sean Payton and Co. will be able to draft or sign some players to make things easier for the Oregon product.
Despite their flaws on offense, Denver has a real shot of making the postseason with a rookie quarterback, and it will be quite an achievement for the franchise.
