‘He’s So Cooked’ – NFL Fans Fear for Jahmyr Gibbs After Dan Campbell Learns About RB’s Viral Social Post

NFL fans are worried about Jahmyr Gibbs' playing time next week after Dan Campbell was informed about the running back's post on social media.

The Detroit Lions surprised everyone by drafting Jahmyr Gibbs with the 12th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Nevertheless, the 22-year-old running back is already one of the most explosive players in the league and is a true difference-maker for Detroit.

Gibbs had a big game against the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving and helped the Lions to a 23-20 win. However, following the win, he posted a photo of his teammate Jermar Jefferson, who was standing in front of the codes for various Lions’ dropback protections.

Dan Campbell learned about the post during a media session on Saturday and was not pleased with it.

Fans React to Dan Campbell Learning About Jahmyr Gibbs’ Post

Fans on social media believe that Campbell could take action against Gibbs as the star RB made a big error. Although the photo meant no harm, it could force Detroit to completely change the calls for its dropback protections.

Some fans believe this mistake could cost Gibbs some snaps in Week 14, which isn’t ideal for fantasy football managers.

“Players are really stupid. Nobody looked at this and said, ‘I probably shouldn’t post this?'” wrote one fan.

“Prayers to Gibbs. Dan did not look happy about that revelation,” said another.

Another fan added, “Gibbs bout to get his a** whooped like a kid who fu***d up at school.”

“Gibbs gotta be a little smarter,” wrote a fan.

“Oh, I didn’t know that,” said Campbell as per Sports Illustrated when asked about his views on Gibbs’ post on social media. “Yeah, I need to check on that. Did not know that. Yeah, I’d rather our stuff not be out there.”

Since becoming the Lions’ head coach in 2021, Campbell has taken pride in developing one of the best cultures of any team in the NFL. It remains to be seen whether the post by Gibbs was a mistake or just an intentional maneuver to confuse opponents.

Detroit is well known for running trick plays on the field, and it wouldn’t be surprising if the team had planned to put this photo out just to create some buzz and mess around with other teams.

The Lions are 11-1 on the season and have won their last 10 games. They will face the Green Bay Packers on Thursday Night Football in Week 14. It’s a very big divisional game for them, which is why Gibbs’ social media post has caught a lot of attention.

Lions RBs Have Had a Phenomenal Season

The Lions have the best-scoring offense in the league and are averaging 31.9 points per game. Jared Goff is in the MVP conversation, while Detroit’s running backs, David Montgomery and Gibbs, have massively helped him.

Detroit is averaging 154.4 rushing yards per game this season — third-best in the NFL, behind only the Philadelphia Eagles (193.4) and Baltimore Ravens (180.4).

Both Gibbs and Montgomery have played quite well this year. Neither has missed a game so far, and they’ve combined for 22 touchdowns:

    • Gibbs has rushed for 973 yards and 10 touchdowns, averaging 6.0 yards per carry. He also has 282 receiving yards and a touchdown on 28 receptions.
    • Montgomery has rushed for 720 yards and 11 touchdowns while averaging 4.3 yards per carry, along with 277 receiving yards on 27 receptions.

The Lions are arguably the best team in the NFL and have a great opportunity to win the franchise’s first Super Bowl. A win against the Packers next week will go a long way in building their confidence after a close win against the Bears.
