What are the top bench press results from the 2022 NFL Combine? Here, we’ve laid out all the bench press results for each prospect, organized by position. Scroll through and see who’s impressed, who’s disappointed, and who has the top mark at the bar!

Who has the most bench reps at the 2022 NFL Combine?

A lot gets made of the bench press every year at the NFL Combine. Like most drills, it might not be directly correlated to a player’s performance on the field. But the bench press can be a good representation of a player’s upper body strength, conditioning, endurance, and resolve under pressure. Players lift successive reps of 225 pounds in order to show off these traits.

Unofficially, the all-time bench press record belongs to Eastern Kentucky defensive tackle Justin Ernest, who completed 51 reps of 225 pounds at the 1999 NFL Combine. However, Ernest went undrafted and was only in the league for a year.

Stephen Paea is the more recognizable figure at the top of the bench press rankings. A defensive tackle from Oregon State, Paea logged 49 bench reps at the 2011 NFL Combine. He was drafted by the Chicago Bears in Round 2 and went on to have a seven-year career with a career-high 6 sacks in 2014.

As of now, the leading prospect in the bench press at the 2022 NFL Combine is Boston College OL Zion Johnson with 32. We will update this article periodically as more results come in.
