Who are the NFL announcers on FOX, CBS, NBC, and ESPN, with 14 games across Sunday and Monday of Week 8? With just two teams off due to the NFL 2021 bye week schedule, both FOX and CBS will be covering six games each, while NBC and ESPN will take their traditional prime-time games.

NFL announcer assignments for Week 8

Which announcers will be covering Week 8 of the NFL for both CBS and FOX?

Four of those will come in the early window and will include them sending their lead announcers to the NFL game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns. Why is Joe Buck not announcing an NFL game today?

We have become somewhat used to Joe Buck and Troy Aikman not being on our screens on a Sunday this season. When CBS has the double-header for the week, Buck and Aikman have been resting on Sundays, having called Thursday Night Football. However, in Week 8, Aikman will be on our screens but not Buck. This is somewhat unusual as the pairing has become synonymous with FOX’s national NFL game over the years.

The reason for Buck’s absence is that he will be calling Game 5 of the World Series between the Houston Astros and Atlanta Braves in Atlanta. There was a chance that Buck could have been available to FOX, had the World Series have ended in four games. However, with the Braves and Astros splitting the first two games, that potential immediately disappeared.

NBC announcers for Week 8

Dallas Cowboys at Minnesota Vikings | 8:20 PM ET
Al Michaels, Cris Collinsworth, Michele Tafoya (Field Reporter)

ESPN / ABC announcers for 2021

New York Giants at Kansas City Chiefs | 8:15 PM ET
Steve Levy, Brian Griese, Louis Riddick, Lisa Salters (Field Reporter)
