With no player selected in the last four years, can the 2023 New Mexico NFL Draft prospects change the school’s recent fortunes? Let’s take a look at the credentials of their players with our New Mexico scouting reports for 2023.
New Mexico 2023 NFL Draft Scouting Reports
Jerrick Reed II, S
Strengths: Athletic safety prospect with a versatile game. Outstanding run defender who quickly locates the ball handler and makes plays up the field or out to the flanks. Stays with assignments, quickly diagnoses plays in coverage, and is quick flipping his hips. Stays downfield with receivers and follows them out of breaks. Works to keep the action in front of him.

Weaknesses: Lacks size and is easily blocked from the action. More of a drag-down tackler. Overpursues plays and takes himself from the action.
Overall: Reed is an athletic prospect with the speed and range to play on Sundays. He must improve his strength but comes with an upside.
