The Minnesota Timberwolves boast one of the most expensive rosters in the NBA. Their payroll ranks second-highest in the league for the 2024–25 season. Naz Reid signed a three-year deal worth $41.9 million with Minnesota in June 2023. He will earn $13.9 million this season, with a player option valued at $15.02 million for the 2025–26 campaign. The deal is fully guaranteed.

Reid originally joined the Timberwolves on a four-year rookie contract worth $6.1 million in 2019. He’s set to become a free agent ahead of the 2026–27 season.
4) Jaden McDaniels – $23 Million
Drafted 28th overall by the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020, Jaden McDaniels was traded twice on draft night before landing in Minnesota. After his four-year, $10.09 million rookie contract, he signed a five-year, $131 million extension in October 2023.
McDaniels earned $23,017,242 this season ($22.59 million in base salary and $431,035 in incentives). His salary increases by nearly $1.8 million each season through the life of the contract.
3) Julius Randle – $31.6 Million
Julius Randle joined the Timberwolves with his four-year, $117.8 million deal originally signed with the New York Knicks in August 2021 still intact. The contract includes $106.4 million in guaranteed money and features a $30.9 million player option for 2025–26. He’ll hit free agency ahead of the 2026–27 season unless he opts in.
2) Anthony Edwards – $42.1 Million
The top pick in the 2020 NBA Draft has become the franchise centerpiece. Anthony Edwards signed a five-year, $244.6 million extension in July 2023. He’s earning $42.1 million this season, with his salary increasing by about $3.5 million each year.
The extension will keep Edwards in Minnesota through the 2028–29 season, with his final two years topping $50 million annually. His average yearly salary of $48.9 million surpasses the total value of his rookie deal by nearly $4.7 million.

1) Rudy Gobert – $43.8 Million
Rudy Gobert was acquired by the Timberwolves in July 2022 after nine seasons with the Utah Jazz. He is earning $43.8 million this year, stemming from a five-year, $205 million extension he signed with Utah in 2020. He accounts for 31.7% of Minnesota’s salary cap.
In October 2024, Gobert agreed to a three-year, $109.5 million extension with the Timberwolves. He is set to earn $35 million and $36.5 million over the next two seasons, with a $38 million player option for 2027–28. His contract also includes a 7.5% trade bonus.
