‘What Are We Doing?’ — LeBron James’ Former Teammate Goes Off About ‘Gross’ Warriors Rumors

One of Lebron James' former teammates has warned him against teaming up with Stephen Curry at the Golden State Warriors.

LeBron James is leaving the Los Angeles Lakers in free agency, with the Golden State Warriors emerging as a possible destination.

However, a former teammate has warned the four-time NBA champion not to link up with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green in Golden State.

Former Teammate Warns LeBron James Against Joining Warriors

Rumors linking James with a move to the Warriors have gained steam in recent days. The franchise is reportedly looking to put together a Big 4 of Anthony Davis, Curry, Green, and James.

However, Channing Frye, who was part of the James-led Cleveland Cavaliers team that won the NBA championship in 2016, believes that joining the Warriors would be the wrong move for the four-time MVP.

“Please don’t do that. It’s just gross. That’s gross. It won’t look right. Jordan in a Wizards jersey just didn’t look right. LeBron in the Lakers, you kind of got used to it. Bron in Miami, okay that made sense. Bron in a Warriors [jersey]? No! And this lineup? Ugh, it’s the men’s 40 and over league. What are we doing? No,” Frye said on “The Herd with Colin Cowherd.”

Frye went on to detail the reasons why a partnership between Curry and James would not work. He claimed that opposition teams could use a zone defense against the Warriors and take advantage of their floor-spacing issues.

“At the end of the day, there’s so many what ifs on this roster construction. There’s floor spacing, shooting. This is not good for Stephen Curry and it’s not great for Bron. If prime Klay was on here, if there was some youth on here, some elite shooting other than Steph, for sure. This is not the roster construction that is great for Steph or for LeBron,” he added.

Frye, who recently met James at the Cavaliers’ 10-year reunion, previously said he would hate to see the NBA legend join the Warriors because of the animosity and rivalry between the two teams.

The two teams faced off in four consecutive NBA Finals from 2015 to 2018, with the Warriors winning three championships and the Cavaliers coming from 3-1 down to triumph in 2016.

It remains to be seen whether Frye’s words will have any impact on James, who is weighing his options ahead of next season. He is also attracting interest from the Cleveland Cavaliers, while a return to the Miami Heat is another reported possibility for James ahead of his 24th season in the NBA.
