NBA World Reacts to Victor Wembanyama’s Fastest Double-Double Feat

Wembanyama reached 10 points and 10 rebounds in just 8 minutes and 31 seconds, grabbing his 10th rebound early in the second quarter. Before Wembanyama set the new mark, the fastest double-double since the NBA-ABA merger was held by Andre Drummond, who did it in 9 minutes in 2022.

Wemby finished with 41 points on 17-of-27 shooting, along with 16 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks, and 1 steal in 31 minutes.

Wembanyama’s feat quickly went viral when the official NBA account posted, “10 POINTS. 10 REBOUNDS. 10 MINUTES. Plus THIS rejection. Wemby doing it all early with a QUICK double-double!”

Sports data page OnyxOdds pointed out the history behind it, stressing how rare the feat is, “Fastest double-doubles since the NBA-ABA merger: Victor Wembanyama, tonight (8 minutes), Andre Drummond, 2022 (9 minutes), Victor Wembanyama, 2025 (10 minutes).”

Spurs-focused account Spurs Culture confirmed the record, underlining the historic nature of the performance, “Victor Wembanyama just recorded the fastest double-double in NBA history. He did it in 8 minutes.”

As the game progressed, the NBA account shared another post, capturing the scale of Wemby’s dominance, “Wemby up to 41 PTS and 16 REB after this MONSTROUS stuff.”

Real Sports app reacted in disbelief, asking, “Does that say 10 PTS and 10 REB in 10 MIN??”

Legion Hoops broke down his full performance, asserting that his numbers are now firmly in the MVP conversation: “Victor Wembanyama: 41 points, 16 rebounds, 3 blocks, 17/27 FG, 3/6 3P. Making a strong case for MVP.”

The Hoop Central simply added, “Victor Wembanyama is unstoppable.”

Sleeper Hoops highlighted both his performance and team form, noting, “Victor Wembanyama tonight: 41 PTS, 16 REB, 4 AST, 3 BLK. The Spurs are 25-2 over their last 27 games.”

Sports content creator Dante Turo kept it simple, stating, “Yeah… he might actually be the MVP.”

Popular X page Fliff echoed the loudest sentiment, posting, “Wemby tonight: 41 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks. GIVE HIM THE MVP.”

The Hoop Central also shared Wemby’s recent scoring stretch, explaining that his consistency is backing up the hype, “28.2 PPG, 12.2 RPG, 3.5 APG, 3.5 BPG… MVP numbers.”

The Bulls, pushing to snap a three-game losing streak, started fast with an uncontested one-handed slam from Matas Buzelis, but the Spurs quickly answered with a 20-13 run fueled by Wembanyama’s early double-double.

Wemby’s presence inside helped San Antonio dominate the paint, securing a 55-35 rebounding edge. The Frenchman was efficient in the post, confident from deep, and controlled both ends without forcing shots. This was his third 40-point game of the season and his 14th game with at least 30 points. It was also his fourth straight double-double with 15 or more rebounds.

The Spurs, meanwhile, improved to 57-18, winning their ninth straight game, as Wembanyama strengthened his case at the top of the Kia MVP race.
