On Sunday night, WWE Superstar Trick Williams continued his promotional run by appearing at an NBA game, attending the matchup between the Phoenix Suns and the Charlotte Hornets in Phoenix. The former two-time WWE NXT Champion and NXT North American Champion was spotted courtside as part of his tour following a recent appearance on The Breakfast Club.
Trick Williams Promotes WWE SmackDown During Phoenix Suns Halftime Appearance
Williams was part of the halftime entertainment in Phoenix, promoting Friday Night SmackDown, which will take place at the Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix, Arizona, on March 13, as the road to WrestleMania 42 tour continues. They were even giving two tickets to Friday’s show.
“We’re reporting to you live with one of the most entertaining WWE superstars, Trick Williams, who has finally arrived. And the truth is, we’re coming this Friday to the Market Matchup Center to put on a show,” said Williams during his halftime appearance.
“We’re bringing the energy and the fun. Just like Ryan Dunn, just like Jalen Green, we’ve got stars and great talent in the building, like Devin Booker. So if you’re ready to make some noise, Phoenix Suns fans, make some noise!”

The Suns would go on to win the game against the Hornets, 111-99, improving their record to 37-27 and currently the 7th seed in the Western Conference.
Devin Booker led the way with a perfect 15-for-15 performance from the free-throw line, racking up 30 points and 10 assists on Sunday night. The victory snapped Charlotte’s impressive 10-game road winning streak, the longest in the NBA since the Lakers won 11 straight away from home in the 2019-20 season.
The Suns, who have now won four of their last five, also got major contributions from Collin Gillespie and Jalen Green, who added 24 points apiece, while LaMelo Ball paced the Hornets with 22 points in the loss.
Williams Discusses WWE Rise During Phoenix TV Appearance
On Monday morning, Williams was a guest on 12 News KPNX, which is the NBC local affiliate in Phoenix. During his appearance, Williams was asked about his rise in the WWE and what it has been like from his perspective.
“Oh, man, I’m living my dream. When I decided I wanted to become a WWE superstar, I imagined days without a shirt on, people chanting my name. Life is good,” said Williams.
Williams even cut a promo during the interview with KPNX, “Allison, I have a confession. I hope people aren’t upset, but I just heard there’s talk of record-breaking heat coming to Phoenix. And that heat is because Trick Williams will be on SmackDown this Friday. We’re going to bring the heat every Friday. We’re on the road to WrestleMania; anything can happen.”
Williams was also asked about his experience as part of the halftime entertainment at the Market Matchup Center over the weekend with the Phoenix Suns.
“Man, I had a great time. We put on a show. I knocked down a free throw with such ease that I made it look effortless, and the crowd loved it. That’s just a preview of how we put on a show. Trick Williams, I’m born for the spotlight.”
Williams is also coming off his solid performance in the Elimination Chamber Match in Chicago, where he entered third overall, which featured Randy Orton, Logan Paul, Cody Rhodes, Je’Von Evans, and LA Knight.
