The Golden State Warriors, after an unfortunate end to the playoffs at the hands of the Minnesota Timberwolves, were hoping to get things back on track this season. But injuries have completely derailed their season.
Still, the team has hung around and should make the play-in once again. While Jimmy Butler, who tore his right ACL, isn’t coming back this season, the team has been hoping that it can get its best player, Stephen Curry, back on the court. After a demoralizing loss to the Detroit Pistons, could the game against the Atlanta Hawks finally give them that opportunity?

When Will Stephen Curry Return From His Knee Injury?
A strong start to the season, alongside a flurry of offseason signings, had many believing the Warriors could be a legitimate force in the Western Conference. However, those dreams died relatively early on.
After starting the season 16-16, the roster was clearly rife with flaws. But one major problem for Golden State was the injuries to Curry. Whether it was an illness or ankle issues, he was moving in and out of the lineup with regularity.
A strong stretch in January gave them some renewed hope as the team rose to 25-19. But that uptick didn’t last very long.

Then, disaster struck at the end of the month. In a 131-124 loss to Detroit, Curry suited up for the last time to date.
A knee injury that had been bothering him for a while became too severe. Since then, he hasn’t seen the court. And with just 12 games remaining on the Warriors’ schedule, the hopes for a return are dwindling by the day.
Their most recent loss, once again to the Pistons, was 115-101. However, what made the loss especially egregious was that Detroit was without its superstar, Cade Cunningham.
Now, as the Atlanta Hawks, seeking vengeance after their 11-game winning streak was snapped by the Houston Rockets, come into town, all eyes are on the two-time MVP, especially after the latest comments from ESPN’s Shams Charania on “NBA Today.”
“There is cautious optimism that Stephen Curry will return to the line-up by the end of the month. That’s after, I’m told, he had a strong on-court workout Tuesday afternoon in Boston, starting to run, cut, move, take some slight contact, like the Stephen Curry that we know.”
The latest re-evaluation is scheduled for March 21, which should give fans a clearer idea of where the four-time NBA champion is in his return timeline to the court. Either way, fans in the Bay Area have to be excited as it looks like their franchise star will be on the court for the final stretch of the season and potentially even the postseason.
