‘BRING BACK WOJ’ — ESPN’s Shams Charania Under Fire for ‘Personal Vendetta and Bias’ Against Bucks

ESPN insider Shams Charania faces severe backlash from online NBA community accusing him of a personal vendetta against the team.

ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania has found himself in the spotlight this season for his coverage around the Bucks’ situation.

Amid a difficult season for Milwaukee that ultimately led to Doc Rivers stepping down as head coach, Charania’s comments on his coverage of the Bucks are under fire.

NBA Fans Criticize Shams Charania’s Milwaukee Bucks Coverage

Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show recently, Charania addressed his coverage of the team and said, “The reality of everything in Milwaukee is this… if they spent as much time dealing with their own internal dynamics and problems as they do responding to accurate reports, they wouldn’t be in the mess that they’re in right now.”

Reacting to Charania’s comments, one influencer stated on X, “Shams has totally jumped over the line from reporter / journalist to wanting to be part of the story. Its a bad look. If your reports are accurate then stand by them. No need to get in a public fight with the people you report on.”

Nathan Marzion, who hosts the “Bucks University Podcast” that focuses on Bucks basketball, posted on X, “Just keeps proving our point that he has a personal vendetta and bias against the Bucks lol. Regardless of what ends up happening, this guy is a clown.”

Another influencer posted on X, “This is so personal and lacks any form of professionalism. The Bucks will never be covered fairly by Shams. Add it to the list. Milwaukee vs Everyone.”

This influencer wants former ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, who is currently out of the media business, back: “BRING BACK WOJ…..”

Dario Melendez, sports director at WISN 12 NEWS in Wisconsin, posted this on X: “Kinda just proved the narrative.”

Another influencer shared their opinion about Charania’s coverage of the Bucks and the recent comments, posting, “This little weasel is going to take a victory lap when Giannis is finally out of Milwaukee. It reminds me of a kid I went to HS with who would take 30 halfcourt shots and call it before every one. Then when he finally made one he said “Called it” kid was a joke. So is Shams.”

In a season marred by locker room conversation leaks and controversies surrounding Giannis Antetokounmpo, the failure to make the playoffs for the first time since 2015-16 has only compounded Milwaukee’s struggles.

With their season over, the front office faces the reality of Antetokounmpo’s exit and some major overhauls.
